This 1960s children's toy named Gaylord the dog is literally the most depressing, miserable looking creature I have ever seen just fucking look at it

#why is the dog called this #why wouldn't you call him like. hopalong hound or something #mooch the pooch #or even just walker the dog #anything related to walking or plodding would make more sense from a marketing pov given that that's the usp of the toy #he'll walkety walkety walk with you #adverts #also idk about america but in the uk gaylord is an archaic homophobic slur #(which was why it always bothered me when bbc ghosts fans suggested it as a hilarious potential name for the captain #but that's by the by)#ah hearing kids yelling ‘gaylord!’ across a playground takes me back to the 90s #despite gaylord's lugubrious demeanour #it is a pretty cool mechanical toy and I like how you can feed it a magnetic bone
