The sudden chaos on the ship was frightening. Androids were rushing and pushing as they tried to get out and escape the military. Sounds of gunshots made the little girl jump. Though she appeared human, there was no reason a human child would be on Jericho. Surely enough, that alone would warrant a bullet through her chest.

Alice kept running, stopping to hide behind a corner when she heard heavy footsteps. Peeking around, she spotted the tall men in military uniforms. Between the gaps, she could see someone else, the blonde Android they had stopped. Alice almost gasped when she recognized Chloe, the kind Android that had always made her smile, that had talked to her and painted with her, made her feel like a child.

There was only a second where Alice was allowed to reminisce on the events of just a day or two ago. Then the gunshot and Chloe crumpled to the ground. Alice covered her mouth with a hand to keep from gasping, to keep herself from screaming. She ducked back behind the corner, listening and waiting for the steps to disappear before stepping out and running towards the fallen Android.

Markus: What did Connor say?

Alice: He said no.

Markus: Then why should I let you?

Alice: Because he's not the boss of you.
