I'm writing this while wearing my flannel shirt and sipping a cup of tea. Â It's almost June and we've had two threatens of frost and snow! Â Enough already!
The rain that's been going on around here has been CRAZY!  This whole week has been thunderstorms with hail and violent lightning. My poor wave petunias got quite badly battered and are looking very soggy and sad.  Most of my plants are very waterlogged.  I will need to dump out excess water out of my potted rosemary (which I really just need to move into the garden) and lavender.  The iris are the only plants really loving the overly wet weather.
This has been such an odd season so far. Â We've had very cold temperatures until May and even then, we occasionally had a light frost. Â The weather has been bone dry (drought even), and then we get drowned with torrential rains that flood everything.
In brighter news, my father (the Master Gardener) has gifted me some new tomatoes and peppers for my garden! Â He starts his plants inside from seed around February and now they are a very substantial size. I am very excited to put them in...I just need it to stop raining! Â I also need to get some more tomato stakes for them. Â I might get a tomato cage for the cucumbers as well....
