“sometimes i still miss you. the warmth of your comfort pouring over me in the middle of an empty corridor, when all of my lights were flickering and my lungs seemed to be failing and the wolves were lurking in the corners of my mind; and i’m wondering how many other ways there are to describe a panic attack without actually admitting that that’s what it was. i’ve always ran from my problems, but there’s no way to run when your body is collapsed in on itself in a hallway and your legs are numb. sometimes it’s easier to let yourself be wrapped up in the darkness and i guess this is what it has come to. see, i had another encounter with anxiety earlier and i wanted your arms to pull me out of its wrath and your voice to tell it to go away, and it turns out that people aren’t constant and there will be days where i’ll miss you still. but someday i’ll figure out how to pull myself out of the grip of this monster and maybe that’ll be the day i realise where the light switch is and how to keep my lungs from failing and that sometimes all the wolves need is a little kindness for them to stop attacking. maybe that’ll be the day i realise i’m so much better without you. i always was.”
