Being raised by a Christian family. I was under the impression I shouldn’t seek out guys; shouldn’t look for love. I was told that God would send the perfect man to me and he will be the only one I date.

It’s ok to want to date only one guy.

I had a dream where I got a full sleeve tattoo including hand at a manicure place and I was trying to wear a long sleeve to cover it but everyone in my family kept coming into my room as I was changing. So my arm was stuck in my clothes to hide it as I scream at the top of my lungs for everyone to get out of my room.

Its the principle of the thing.

Context: Me, my brother, and my sister each got a thermos. Apparently there was only red and purple options at the store.

Rant: I am extremely frustrated and sad. As soon as I commented on the fact my thermos was purple, my mother apologetically said that there was only two colors. So why didn't you just get me a red one too? The fact that you say that in an apologetic tone indicates you knew I wouldn't be completely happy with what you got.

If there had been a blue one I know she would have gotten it. She didn't get the red one for me because society thinks boys and girls shouldn't have the same color items. She wouldn't see anything wrong with getting me a blue and my brother a red. In fact, if I had been with her and picked the red, she would be fine with that. But as a result of how she was raised, and of society, it didn't occur to her to get the red for me as well.

I'm not upset about the fact that its a purple thermos, I don't mind the color. I'm upset that it didn't occur to her that me and my brother could have the same color.
