Ana's arms instinctively spread out at either side of her. She closed her eyes, surrendering herself entirely.

The wind roared past her ears, forcing her backward, and sent her dark waves swaying wildly behind her as Dusk climbed and climbed and climbed high above the ocean.

There was no saddle to steady her. No harness to hold on to.

She didn't care.

She whooped out into the heights in overwhelming elation. Her doubts and worries dissolving into the bundles of clouds they left behind.

Ana’s eyes stung with tears—she hadn’t thought she’d feel the air tugging at her like this again. Feel the familiar dampness cling to her hands as they touched the clouds around her. Like she was herself again.

And alive.

Fearlessly alive.

Dusk had given back her wings. And so much more.❞

Before they ever reached this point, Ana had to endure a heartbreaking journey of healing after being betrayed by someone she once called a friend and handed over to the Dragon Hunters, who made sure she would never forget their prolonged cruelty. Nor ever erase its marks from her skin.

Dusk himself underwent a similar challenge, having suffered at the Hunters’ hands as well, and needing to learn how to trust again. And to find something worth protecting.

Together, they built a bond that soon became like iron—unshakable and unbreakable. And within it, Ana found herself once more. Realized she had not been broken by her hardships, but reborn. Stronger than before and ready to face whatever else the gods planned to place in her path.

Dusk had always known the embers of her inner strength still burned, merely waiting to be fanned into flame.

That’s why before the use of calendars ppl use to prepare their tinctures either on the new moon or full moon. A a full moon cycle is usually 28 days or so. And they would give the moon names so it’s easier to remember when/what month said tincture was bottled.

This is also why herbal medicine is prepare in small batches. You have to take your time preparing your bottles. Making sure everything is clean so you don’t end up with mold. Diluting your grain alcohol. Heckkk knowing when to pick your herbs for max potency! Drying your herbs! That takes a lot of time too!
