he's like a patron saint to me
time loop with two people in it but one person refuses to acknowledge the loop and pretends to be looping with everyone else. meanwhile the other person is freaking out
my partner said something that kinda rocked my world
CONSUMPTION
I need a polite and effective way to say "hey your heart is truly in the right place and your anger is often righteous but I think sometimes you’re getting recreationally mad about things that are frankly not worth the amount of energy you’re spending on them, and every time you do this you're driving yourself slightly more insane with nothing to show for it," and then I need a way to broadcast that message through a loudspeaker to roughly 30,000 people at once, and THEN I need a time machine to send that message to my past self lol. and maybe a second time machine in case past me tries to be clever and sabotage the version of me who comes through the first time machine

personally I'm more of a direct action oriented person but I do respect the tactic of calling representatives. I do wish there were more ways to access this tactic that don't involve a phone call. not every d/Deaf person is capable of making a phone call- even if they just leave a message. many d/Deaf people have heavy Deaf accents or cannot speak verbally at all. many d/Deaf people don't have the ability to understand the instructions to get to the point where they leave a voicemail.
it's so exclusionary of d/Deaf people.
this isn't the fault of the people organizing these calls, instead it's the fault of a system that does not consider d/Deaf people's ability to access to their representatives.
🕸BEHOLD MY BOY!!!🕸
after who knows how many months of puzzling out the geometry, running out of the right colors, & feeling like i'd NEVER be done making flower motifs, HERE HE IS!! in all his orange glory!!
the cutest, sweetest, most huggable spider in the WORLD!!! ✨️💖🕷💖✨️
his name is Arson 🔥🥰🔥
learn to associate cleaning with pride instead of shame and your quality of life will improve in ways you can't even imagine btw
like I'm sympathetic, it's hard work, it takes some degree of mental organisation and physical capacity that is not equally accessible to every human being on earth. I know. but regardless of how much you can do and how often, you will get better results across the board if you can frame it as positive effort towards a better situation instead of perpetually self flagellating for having the sin of being a solid thing in physical space that steadily accumulates dirt no matter what just like everything else on earth
Two vtubers I have never heard of have simultaneously posted google docs calling each other out and both showed up on my feed at once so while I do not condone this one bit I am nevertheless scrolling through both side by side at once
I will not be putting these people on blast I will not be sharing who these people are!!
I love the Google Doc Callout because it's such a delightfully stupid modern day phenomenon borne not merely from inability to hash out interpersonal disputes in private but the cloying need to have an entire audience on one's side to validate one's feelings. Months and months of pent up anger and insecurity finally exploding in one cathartic, incoherent 200 page document where you have to simultaneously contextualize your friendship and defend your position because somehow this is easier than you and another person just sitting down and going "Hey. This made me uncomfortable, can we talk about it?" (And of course nowadays, disagreements are a numbers game. The correct party is whoever has the most people in support of them)
I also feel like this is a natural byproduct of what happens when you and your friendship gets publicized even within a small online sphere where interpersonal disputes aren't allowed to remain private, because everybody feels bafflingly entitled to knowing the details (specifically, who is The Bad Guy in the dispute, because there must be one). I understand that when you have a spotlight on you, no matter how small, there is a pressure to vomit out an explanation about why you are no longer talking to this person and why you're in the right for it. And when both of you have access to the same free Google Suite, obviously there's a need to rush and get your own document out asap because God forbid the other person pulls the trigger first.
It's sad! It's silly. This helps nobody. Nobody is combing through the evidence both sides provide and trying to meaningfully parse who the "correct" party is because your "audience" is not a jury, the evidence provided is skewed to start, and the only people really going through them are people who've already made up their minds or nosy bad-faith shitheads who treat it like overhearing a fight on the subway (me). (I do not pretend to be better than this, btw: I am fully aware I am part of the audience that has gathered to watch the public dissolution of a friendship that didn't need to be public. My one defense is I've no interest in sharing who these people are)
Oh yeah here's another place from my work place
It's stairs that no one uses

A former programmer spoke up during a city council meeting in a small town in Ohio, making a well-articulated argument against data centers.
kind of harmonically beautiful
