Making things from strings!

Hi I’m Lille, welcome to my pile of yarn!

Pronouns are they/any, I am a whole ass adult, appreciator of fluffy things and maker of many mediocre fiberarts projects.

I started knitting back in 2016 and I've just been adding other types of turning strings into things (and also turning things into strings!) to my arsenal since then. So this is where there will be knitting, crochet, cross stitch & other embroidery, sewing, spinning, tablet weaving, nalbinding maybe if i figure out where i put that needle, cord weaving and whatever new things i get my grubby lil yarn gremlin hands on(I have my eyes on a rigid heddle loom and bobbin lace making).

Main: @lilleputtu, where there is sims stuff mostly, but other stuff also. And where I follow/like/reply/ask from, so ya know, that be me.

My big weaving project is on hold because of need to buy the yarn reasons, so to exorcize the weaving demons from my brain: actually using my inkle loom to weave instead of to hold my tablet weaving project that is too big for it.

Excuse the untrimmed ends and generally awful photography but the samples are dry and ready for me to think some thoughts and finish the plan for the final project! \o/

left is handwashed/soaked, right is "throw it in the washing machine at 30° for 45 minutes and see what happens". what happens is apparently some felting of the loose yarn bits and a bit less of a smooth texture. Also i thiiink its a bit more fluffy/soft? Unsure. Shall be just petting my samples for the next week or so.

Am also definitely set on switching out the beige for a more "natural wool" coloured version of the same yarn. the beige has a sort of cool undertone to it that doesn't match ~my vision~ for this project.

Well, good thing I decided to follow the advice of smart people and go for making a sample. because this yarn definitely does not want to be in a 30/10 reed. I mean I did want to get different reeds eventually anyways so I suppose it is time to do that already.
