As posted today by the Sassenach Spirits Instagram account, we now know that the ‘Outlander Watch Party Cocktails’ series was filmed on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

We also know that on the same date in the evening the Outlander cast attended ‘The Other Place’ play at The Shed staring Tobias Menzies.

Not saying the filming of the ‘Outlander Watch Party Cocktails’ videos would have taken all day, but it would have been a substantial working morning and afternoon.

Monday, March 2nd there was the Season 8 premiere. Tuesday, March 3rd was press interviews for most of the day. Wednesday, March 4th we have The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon taping and “Best Friend Day” with Alex at the New York Knicks game.

At this point, I don’t think the question is whether Tumblr is being read. It obviously is. By who exactly doesn’t even matter anymore, because the pattern is consistent: Tumblr points at the weak spot, and then a post appears that seems designed to patch it.

A month ago it was the birthday collage, last week it was the thumbs and the hats. People questioned whether it was really her, and then hours later came the selfie. Now it was the dog, the sunglasses, the doubt, and right on schedule, the repost.

So the real question is: why are we still handing them the talking points?

Every time this corner of Tumblr gets loud, it functions like a free focus group. We highlight the hole, they plug it. Usually badly, but still. And the timing makes it even more obvious. The Josh sketch and bloopers reignited the Sam and Cait discourse, and on cue, we get a Steph breadcrumb right when the conversation gets too loud.

I completely understand why people want to talk or vent or just joke about it. It’s exhausting, and humor helps. But if the public dash is being used as a live workshop for this narrative, then maybe the smartest move is to move the conversations elsewhere. DMs, group chats, private communities, whatever works.

I'm glad I missed the drama. And I agree, we shouldn't give it or her any airtime.

I think the fandom was going nuts over the couples therapy and bloopers that Josh provided for us (thank you Josh😘) that some desperate measures were needed to counteract it.

Hence 🐕 with 🕶️ move.

Everything we see on his social media is calculated and measured. Make no mistake about that.

And I'm not even gonna mention his clown psycho therapist of a "girlfriend"s name on my blog.

He wants to stay relevant? I get that. But there are ways of doing so without being cringe and creepy. 😁

He can post about Outlander, post about Jamie Fraser...and no I'm not talking about the same old clips and bits we've seen a gazillion times over, I mean something new we haven't seen yet...BTS photos from his personal stash perhaps (I'm sure he's got loads) or actual personal clips of himself talking about stuff we haven't heard, and it doesn't even need to be breaching privacy, if he doesn't wish to, but again something new we haven't seen or heard, some upcoming projects he's excited about, anything... because how much can one listen to about whiskey, Galloway, or Outlander stories we've heard on repeat for twelve years.

Because sadly, for me personally, I'm losing interest in him very fast these days. And this circus 🎪 is just hurting his image than doing anything good for his reputation.

So next time just ignore. And let's just focus on what we love, and hope this blows over sooner rather than later 🙏😵‍💫
