We need to remember that Ani wasn’t there when the hannah situation was going down. She might have not even known that much about what happened when she moved in with Bryce. She didn’t have a personal relationship with Hannah, and she felt that the Bryce that she knew was different. It was only until she befriended Jessica that his actions hit her, which is totally realistic. Knowing and understanding are two different things. She KNEW that he had done some bad things, however she didn’t understand them until it hit closer to home, and she started to become more wary around him especially after the pool scene.
It’s easy to get angry at Ani for having an intimate relationship with Bryce, but she didn’t see things from our perspective. And she has also been a loyal and caring friend that everyone seems to ignore. She was willing to lie and risk herself for clay and her friends even if she didn’t know them that long. She provided Jessica with a friend who she could seek comfort in, and even though she did think that clay was the killer for like 10 minutes, clay thought the same thing about her.
I’m not saying that Ani hasn’t done some messed up things because she has. And I don’t condone what she did with Bryce but every character in the series has done something worse or as bad as she has done. Both Hannah and Justin watched as Jessica was raped, Jessica abandoned Hannah when she needed it the most, and we all know that Clay is no saint either. So before you go pointing fingers at Ani, remember that everyone in the show has done something terrible, but we forgive and move on. So don’t be a hypocrite
