But... you are not. And... you know she can make it better.

You can't think of anything else anymore, you don't want and don't need anything else - just Natty.

She has mere seconds to register you before you're crashing into her. But Natasha knows it's you, and she's immediately hugging back. "Oh, hi, my little love!"

"Hi, sweetheart!" Wanda also greets you softly, then caresses your hair and nuzzles closer to Nat, her other hand wrapping around the older woman with a content smile.

Natasha kisses Wanda's forehead and the two brush noses, eyes sparkling.

But you keep silent.

Oh god, you keep so silent, you don't want to talk about it, you don't want to feel it, don't want to think about it, you just want Nat, but your throat and lungs are burning and fighting and those traitorous hands shake as they grip her clothes tighter.

"Y/n? I missed you too, baby..." She coos.

She is so sweet, but the silence that follows just kills you...

Her hand stops petting you and a shiver washes over you. You know her eyebrows furrow. Time for confrontation.

"Heey... Are you okay?"

It was that stupid question again that you hate so much... How could you ever describe how you feel? How can you answer, when you feel everything at once? How could you ever label those huge and complicated feelings with mere words?

It burns. Now it's your stomach and your face. There's that faint buzzing sound in your ears, shortly before your eyes rapidly water and your nose stings too.

Your lungs win.

You burst into sobs and Wanda raises her head from Nat's shoulder, the two redheads sharing a concerned look.

Wanda discreetly mouths "She was okay...", and Natasha's eyes drop to the floor for a heartbeat before lifting back to your hair. Her hand goes to cradle the back of your head, tucking you gently into the curve of her neck. Wanda understands and releases both of you. Natasha adjusts her hold, her embrace tightening around you.

"I've got you..." She says so softly, and it makes you scared as if you've been caught doing something bad.

It makes you feel seen and that's terrifying, even though she and Wanda are your closest people. You want her comfort, but without all the consequences of having her comfort...

"I've got you, my little firefly..."

But she knows that. She lets you hide, shielding you from the world's eyes. She presses another kiss into your hair and then seals it with her cheek, her other hand beginning to move in slow, soothing strokes along your back. "I'm here... Natty is here, I promise... Oh, my sweet angel..."

Angel?

Your crying worsens.

"Let me pick you up, my love." She asks and softly pats your leg, and only after you nod is when she gathers you up in her arms. You wrap yours around her neck and your legs around her waist, burying your blotchy face in her hair.

Natasha walks away with you, somewhere secluded, somewhere safe.

"Let it out, let it aaaall out." She breathes and presses you tighter into herself. She nuzzles closer to you and soon you feel her stop walking and settle down.

It takes you some time to realize that the cold air has begun to cool you off - the one thing that always made your inner chaos calm down no matter what - and you realize she's taken you to your favorite balcony.

You move your head just a tiny bit. One eye assessing that it's still early evening, soon to be the golden hour. But you imagine the dark sky with its all shades of blue, and all the stars and barely-visible galaxies that seem to disappear when you look directly at them.

You hide back into her.

She is so warm.

And she is so strong.

And breathing, faintly moving, existing.

A whole human being you get to call "yours", because the universe decided you're allowed to have her.

You feel the gentle, grounding pressure of her hands around you, and it makes you feel so loved. You don't need proof to know she wants you.

You feel the different fabrics she's dressed with as you fidget with them, gradually coming back to yourself.

She is so real and she smells so good and it makes you cry a bit more, because how lucky you are to have her?

Oh, she grabbed napkins for you on the way...

You don't know how much later - it feels like a long time, though it's probably not - but at some point she appears. Soft and quiet, careful not to disturb, she slips in without announcing herself, she's simply returning to where she belongs. A fuzzy blanket around her shoulders, two more folded and tucked under one arm, all the type that is always so soft and warm no matter the temperature, and in her other hand she's clutching the edges of a few packages with favorite snacks that all three of you love.

You smile, but you're still quiet.

They know you're non-verbal right now.

And they understand.

Natasha kisses your cheek, while you greet Wanda with your eyes. The younger woman smiles at you so adorably, her nose and eyes crinkle, and she comes closer, settling the snacks on the table.

She unfolds one of the blankets and drapes it around Nat and you. Then takes the other blanket and wraps it on the opposite side. It's loose and secure at the same time, and it feels so comfortable. She covers both of you, but doesn't let go. She's so happy to be with you. "Awhhh, my soft little cocoon of love!" She squeals softly and heat rushes to your face. An automatic smile tugs at your lips and you shyly duck into Natasha's neck for a few seconds, hiding there.

Nat lets out a quiet hum of a chuckle and scratches lightly at your scalp for a little bit. A tiny nasal sound escapes you, and your arms tighten around her.

The redheads share a little kiss and Wanda settles down besides you both. You peek an eye to look, just as she's about to wraps her hands - including the blanket in her fists - around the two of you. She pauses, grinning, each hand just resting on your backs now.

Natasha kisses your forehead and Wanda presses her lips harder against your cheek, and you squeak at them like an overwhelmed cat that has gotten way more than she bargained for, but would still definitely not pull away.
