sundry fandom stuff

My woke take, as someone who has worked in both a public library and a school library, is that we desperately need both more books that are at a higher reading level but a less mature subject matter, and more books that are at a lower reading level but a more mature subject matter, because 8 year olds who are advanced readers are still 8 year olds and don't want to read about graphic violence and torture, and teens and adults who have learning difficulties or who are just later readers for whatever reason are still teens and adults and don't want to read about Billy the Bunny going to school or whatever the hell.

Sorry you said that you hate the character or huge narrative beat that is integral to the overall story. I think maybe you could just stop engaging in it if you are so mad as to tell someone that is clearly enjoying it that it is awful. Maybe your desires to look down or upset someone for not having the same disdain as you is a huge sign you need to step away from the media. Yeah. That’s not healthy bud.

i hate how much people care about their ships being "canon" now. spirk fans didn't publish zines full of fanfics in the 70s only for modern fandom to grovel at the knees of corporations and beg for things to be canon. use your imaginations, don't allow billionaires to think for you.

what i don't understand about gaylors is why they pick taylor swift when there are sooooo many others to pick from like i'm not even talking about openly queer musicians either because frankly music is nothing without carefully piecing together gay theories i understand that part i just think there are so many musicians with wayyyy more compelling interesting and likely secretly gay potential out there. like we're really going for taylor swift who doesn't even like have a bandmate to be gay with on stage or anything

idk i think you should make this character's heterosexuality relevant to the narrative. i mean why are they cis if it's not servicing the plot. you can't just throw story elements in for no reason if you're gonna make an able bodied character it should really serve a purpose. like why are they white are you just trying to fill a checklist? :/
