Seeing a TERF post is already upsetting. Seeing a TERF post where they are co-opting queer history to degrade trans folks is rage inducing.
Marsha P. Johnson did state she is gay and trans prior to her death. She stated in a Liza Cowan interview from 1970 that she was "working on a sex change" and she was "taking hormones". She co-found STAR, a shelter/organization that included protecting dolls. Just bc in the 60/70/80/90s all had different ways of discussing queerness, the trans community, and identity (in terms of terminology) does not mean that you should intentionally misconstrue our queer predecessors bc it doesn't 100% align with a rather black/white explanation of gender exploration/identity that has always been more grey.
