Ok so first, you’re gonna need a couple things.

-a new email. Dont use your actual name.

-something expensive from lush (I lifted a cardamom coffee perfume.)

You’re going to need this because you don’t have a reciept. Place it on a piece of paper and write “My email is: *insert your fake email*” on the paper and take a photo.

Now, you email lush. My email said this:

I inserted a photo of a random rash and then this one:

After which they sent me an email, asking for my cellphone number and I gave it to them. They called me and I gave them some bullshit lie about how I was ‘so happy to use it because it smelled divine and I love lush so much’ and this was the reply after the call:

I did that one more time with a different rash photo and vanillary perfume on a different email and recieved another gift card which I used online for my recent haul!

okay, so recently I accidentally discovered a new way to scam online stores and y’all wanted me to make a post about it. This may already be a method that people use but I haven’t seen anything about it on liftblr so I’d thought I’d go ahead and share.

DISCLAIMER: I don’t know if this works for multiple companies or different banks or whatever, but this worked for me. Please try this firstly with a small item/necessity so that you don’t spend lots of money and then it doesn’t work :)

ALSO MAKE SURE YOU DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY IN YOUR PAYPAL BALANCE AS WHEN YOU ORDER YOUR ITEMS IT WILL USE THAT AND IT WON’T WORK BASICALLY

What you need:

• a debit card & bank account

• Paypal

• money

1. CREATE YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT

You must have Paypal for this method to work. I suggest making a new account with an email that’s isn’t your personal account as you don’t want to get sussed and then your personal paypal is fucked. I’ve done various scammy things on my personal paypal and then it’s been restricted and it’s shit. So I suggest avoiding this.

2. CONNECT YOUR DEBIT CARD AND BANK

You can get a new debit card and bank (I used a current account if that’s helpful) if you don’t want your personal accounts getting muddled with scamming, but I used my personal account because I wasn’t intending on scamming that order. Make sure your bank account is your primary method of payment.

3. ORDER YOUR ITEMS

You. Must. Use. Paypal. or the scam won’t work. If the company doesn’t use paypal then unfortunately you can’t do this. Remember to keep a note of how long shipping takes.

4. CHECK YOUR EMAILS

You should get an email like this in your inbox:

It should say “this is not a charge”, because the company has not yet processed your payment as you’ve used Paypal. For me, it took ASOS 7 days to process my payment, 2 days AFTER the products have arrived.

5. WAIT UNTIL YOUR ORDER HAS SHIPPED

Now this is the complicated bit. My bank may be different to yours so you may have to google how to do this. If you google “how to remove a direct debit [your bank]” it should come up. You can do this online or on the app, but I personally used the app.

Firstly go onto your bank statement and click the icon in the top corner:

Now select direct debits:

There should be one that’s says Paypal. You’re going to want to cancel the direct debit. This means that Paypal can not withdraw money from your account.

In the next day or two you should get emails from Paypal saying that your bank declined the transfer. It will also say that it will try to remove the funds from your debit card as it’s your secondary method of payment, but because your card and bank should be connected that won’t work either.

If you’ve followed all the steps your items should have arrived for free :)

Personally, I waited until after my items had arrived until I disconnected my bank and paypal, but I guess it depends on the company. I can 100% confirm this works for ASOS but I haven’t tried it with other companies so it may not work.

It’s been around 7 months since I started lifting although I’ve been lifting small things here and there before.

Things I wish I knew/someone would’ve told me when I first started are • that no matter how good the blindspot is, nor how crowded or empty the store is, if you don’t know how to deal with SA’s, you will not have a successful haul. • successful haul should be getting out of a store without a single CS or suspicion from an SA, not just managing to get out of the store. • NEVER say “I’m just browsing”. Seriously. Have some good actual questions regarding the product as if you’re going to buy it. • if you feel like a certain SA is watching you, go up to them and ask a question about a product innocently. They’ll be bummed out • faking calls and walking out of the stores is always the best method to get out of a store • if you beep, KEEP WALKING. JUST KEEP WALKING unless someone tackles you (rip) • returning to stores every week is a bad idea. They will start to recognize you. Space out 3 to 4 weeks before returning to the store. • wear comfortable shoes. Your feet will HURT • your arms will be sore the next day but you’ll get used to it

this is my lil lifting kit:

-a couple of decoy pens to make it look like a pencil case

-seven lil neodymium magnets hidden in a pen

-masking tape wrapped around a ruler (so i can fit the tape in the box + ruler makes it look like a pencil case) for sticking tags to the underside of chairs etc for hiding

-craft knife for cutting tags off

 -ribbon with elastics for removing gator tags

For a multi-level bookstore, you’re going to follow this plan: work from bottom floor to top floor, then stop at the Starbucks when you’ve gathered all of your loot.

Take a reusable bag, preferably a canvas one. You’re going to “line” it with a t-shirt safety-pinned to the inside of the bag, to create a lining – this will hide the books’ sharp corners, so it looks less sus of what’s inside when it’s slung over your shoulder.

Gather your loot floor to floor, browsing as a normal shopper. I have a rule of 5 books per trip. It’s a decent amount to seem like you’re really buying them, but small enough to not notice that you’re hauling.

Items that will for sure be tagged: books over $25, journals, Bibles, anime/manga, fandom books, entertainment category books, maybe bestsellers. These are high shrink categories.

BEWARE the hardback books! They are most likely to have embedded RFIDs in the spines.

BEWARE ANY STICKER stuck to the book. Barnes and Noble is known for their “percentage off” stickers to be RFIDs! If a sticker is thick/you can’t see through it/you can’t peel it easily, it’s an RFID.

Check all items for RFIDs by flipping through them from cover to cover. Usually they’ll be stuck inside a cover. If for some reason they’re on a page, the book will naturally separate on a page with a thick sticker on it, but RFIDs stuck to pages are unlikely.

Almost all I lift are fiction/novels around $15 and I’ve only ever found one RFID. Remove with caution, it’s better to just forget lifting the book entirely.

Okay, once you’ve got your items, go to the Starbucks. Sit your items on a table, order a drink, pay cash of course, then sip your drink and play on your phone. When the Starbucks cashier is busy making drinks, casually place your items in your canvas bag, sling over your shoulder, travel back down to the exit, and leave.
