How many vampires do you think have been hit by a car backing up in a parking lot because the driver couldn't see their reflection
Iāve never considered it but youāre really shining light on whatās probably a very serious issue
#joyce has probably backed into spike like three times #maybe if he would stop CREEPING in the bushes [x]
And this is why driving testers fail you if you donāt look out the back window when backing up
āThe DMV is part of the vampire agendaā was not the hot take I was looking for today, but it oddly feels right.
i went to my first physics lecture this quarter and the professor literally told us āi wrote the textbook for this course but iām going to pirate it for you guys because i hate my publishersā
He is just such a wonderful, lovely dog that I have been fortunate enough to get to spend ten whole years with. May we have ten more, Marble.
āCrawl-yā just wasnāt really doing it for me. Itās a bit too squirming-at-your-feet-ish. Well, you were a snake.

get you someone who can do both
jim and jamie dutcher, determined to show āthe hidden life of wolvesā, lived for six years with a pack of wolves in the idaho wilderness of yellowstone. they came to know wolves as complex, highly intelligent animals with distinct individual personalities, who are caring, playful and above devoted to family.
āonly a select few other species exhibit these same traits so clearly,ā they note. āthey are capable of not only emotion but also real compassion. this is the view of the wolf that we want to share. ā¦it is an animal that cares for its sick and desperately needs to be part of something bigger than itself - the pack. the bond a wolf has to its pack is certainly as strong as the bond a human being has to his or her family.ā
they add, ārarely did two wolves pass each other without playfully rubbing shoulders together or exchanging a brief lick. so often we would see two wolves relaxing together, curled up beside each other.ā the dutchers also recount wolf behavior rarely documented: grief at the death of a pack mate; excitement over the birth of pups; and the shared role of raising young pack members.
but as the wolves struggle to reestablish their foothold in the american west, their public demonetization continues.Ā say the dutchers, āas we see wolves, once again, being shot, trapped and poisoned, we recognize that our unique experience, living with wolves, is unlikely to ever happen again, and for that reason we feel that we have an obligation to share the lives of these wolves we with the widest audience possible.ā
itās not just the wolves at stake, but the entire yellowstone ecosystem. wolves keep the elk gene pool strong (no other predator does this); they redistribute elk herds, allowing vegetation to recover along rivers and streams, which provides food for beavers; and they keep the number of coyotes in check, which helps to maintain populations of rodents, antelopes and birds of prey.Ā
this showās dialogue is iconic
i watched sharkboy and lavagirl for the first time this year⦠having missed out on it when i was, you know. the right age to watch it. iā¦found some of the CGI things onĀ āplanet droolā honestly a little (a lot) nightmarish, and the whole thing super corny, but nothing was funnier to me than baby taylor lautner who was down to fight the entireĀ movie. his dreamĀ song/dance thing wasā¦hysterical
so anyway! i had to draw them. super kids!
One of the most fascinating relationships between animals is the one that seems to exist between wolves and ravens. Ā The raven, scavenger of food of all types, will often follow wolf packs in hopes of morsels of food. Ā And wolves have learned to watch for circling ravens as a sign of of possible food below. Ā But there seems to be more than just a symbiosis based on food between the two species; many observations have been made that can only be described as a friendship between the big predator and the wily bird.

In TTAZZ Justin mentions that their viewers tanked after Balance ended so I just wanted to recommend The Adventure Zone: Amnesty to Balance fans!
While itās not the same characters or fantasy feel to it, the other characters the Mcelroys made are loveable in their own ways and the podcast has a nice aesthetic going on about it. It takes place in West Virginia and involves stories of cryptids such as bigfoot, vampires, Goatman, The Mothman, Indrid Cold, and even more creepy shit!
Iāve seen some people say itās hard to transition to something so different with characters that arenāt Balance, but I began the original TAZ like that.
It starts off slow with character creation and plot buildup of course, but now that the boys seem to know where theyāre going with this, itās turning out to be something special. The characters are becoming more fleshed out, just as loveable, and theyāre starting to feel like a family. The soundtrack is also just as bomb!
Iām only almost twenty episodes in, but this story does have twists and turns. Thereās one big one with two main characters that Iām breathing anticipating the fallout of once itās revealed to the characters themselves! Once things start up, they really start going.
There are similar themes to Balance as well: strong, leading woman with deep secrets, another cat character named after a cartoon cat, a badass, bisexual woman who can wield fire (who also has a thing for a vampire lady!), a mysterious character who ālooks like she could be a sister if you had oneā (sound familiar?), twists and turns in character interactions that are going to be heartbreaking, a character with an odd name thatās āNot really his name,ā like, this isnāt even mentioning the npcās and how cute/badass they all are
itās not the exact same as Balance, but once you get used to the layout, it can be enjoyed in different ways that Balance wasnāt. Each sub-arc has their own pros and cons, and Amnesty is very unique and, imo, the pros outweigh the cons now.
Also. Ned Chicane is by far one of my favorite Clint McElroy characters. Heās got a super unique story and interactions Iāve not seen in other stories.
Iāve never related to something as much as this
