1. I'm so glad that people on Twitter from what I've seen are giving Max his lashings. He fucked up his own race trying to put Lando into the wall and that didn't end well for him. It strangely feels a lot more validating that more people have opened their eyes to this (well except for the FIA and Sky Sports). And whilst I'm on Sky Sports, why did I hear Martin Brundle gas up Max making a foolish mistake and called it genius and legendary. Like what are we watching here guys???? I personally believe that Max Verstappen actually benefits from British media the most out of any driver on the grid but when we are ready to unpack that, I will be sat here with my popcorn.
2. I have been a fan of F1 for nearly 2 years now and I've always wondered why people rate 63 and 16 over Lando when he has been one of the best drivers on the grid PERIOD. I hope that this race shows people that Lando clears BOTH OF THEM by a mile. People forget that there is a reason why Lando Norris is a world champion and why Charles Leclerc and George Russell can't even get back to back race wins.
3. I don't even want to get into the strategy blunder, I'm sure you have read many messages about this but Lando drove exceptional today. Him and Kimi as a matter of fact. I think we could have those 2 fight for the title at some point in the season (I might sound delusional here). We are gonna get MORE upgrades in the next few races and I'm finally excited to see another team challenge Mercedes because let's be honest, Ferrari never stood a chance, especially after today.
Sorry that this was a long ask but this race has me thinking a lot of thoughts at 1 am. Mind you, the race played at 7pm here.
It’s always “British bias” until they’re glazing Max for driving like a track hazard, then suddenly it’s “recognizing greatness.”
The “Lando had a championship-winning car” take is my favorite comedy bit in that discourse. 2025 had four winners from three teams. That is not the domination everyone thinks it is. He was fighting a 4x world champ and his teammate in a car that suited the other guy more, while collecting mechanical issues, position-costing pit stops, DNFs caused by someone else, and team penalties like Pokémon cards. Lando’s bad day was a P4. George’s bad day is a P5 and 40s behind his teammate.
It genuinely feels like Lando was the only McLaren employee who wanted to win this weekend. He did everything right. Like, everything. If this turns into Lando vs Kimi, I’m sorry but that’s not a fair fight right now. Kimi’s still having “oh god oh fuck” radio moments under pressure. Not hate, just facts, but he won't win in a fight against Lando, especially not with McLaren having three more performance upgrades planned.
We haven’t even hit the European tracks where it usually gets worse for Kimi.
And Ferrari might have the car but they absolutely do not have the brains.
