The name's Rye! And this is my new Fandom Blog for DRV3! I used to run @unweavinglies, @drv3sprite-edits, and a different personal blog that I have now since retired. Nice to meet'cha!

Mun is 30+ Years old, Italian (white) American and Agender. I use They/Them (Plural, not singular) Pronouns (So for example: "They Are" instead of "They is". I just personally identify with the plural version more for Reasons.)

Due to the nature of DRV3 as a whole, minors under the age of 16 probably shouldn't follow this blog but I ain't your parent. Just don't expect me to cater to you if you follow me.

I'll be posting analyses, reblogging other's art and posting my own art, answering DRV3-related asks, among other things!

This is a remake of my old personal/fandom blog--which I felt like got too messy--so you may see me reposting/reblogging stuff on here that I wanna keep.

Anon hate, ignorant asks, and bait asks will be ignored, deleted, and outright blocked. Anything akin to these things will also be deleted and blocked. This includes "hot takes", Bad-faith arguments, and debates about fandom crap.

Unrelated to the issue, she told me that the "cysts" on my body that I thought were just, unavoidable things I'd have to live with for the rest of my life? They're not cysts. It's a skin condition called "Hidradenitis suppurativa" and from the images I've seen online, I'm only at stage one or maybe two. Most likely 1 though.

I wasn't THERE for the "cysts". My previous doctor, she never said anything about it. No one else clocked it as a skin condition!

This is something I wanted to mention because this is why I advocate for people to get therapy. It know it sounds unrelated but hear me out.

Getting a good therapist is alike getting a good doctor. A good doctor will see a problem and get you treated even if you're not there for that specific problem. A good doctor will work with you and give you treatment options and do what is best for you and your body.

The same goes for a good therapist. A good therapist will help you find problems and solutions you didn't know were possible. They can give you access to good resources. They work with you so you can heal your mind like a good doctor works with you to heal your body.

Finding good therapists and doctors is hard. You're not always going to find the best match (and even when you do, you might have to say goodbye to them. I had to do this with my last therapist and it was really sad) but eventually, you'll come across a doctor/therapist who will at least give you insight on something you didn't even realize was an issue. I don't know if my current doctor is gonna "click" for me, but she has at least given me insight on fixing a problem I didn't know was there.

I think people forget that Therapy is just. Health care for the mind. If you don't want to talk about something you don't think is a problem in your life (I.E. if you suspect you have a disorder that's heavily stigmatized) and you feel like therapy would only make the problem worse--you don't have to mention it. You don't have to disclose non problems to your therapist, like you don't have to disclose non problems to your doctors. Sure there may be a case like mine where you think something isn't a problem when it is, but it's a little more nuanced with therapy than it is with physical doctors since mental illness is more stigmatized.

But like--I have OSDD, but my therapists don't need to know that. It's not a problem in my life nor do I want help with it. So it's completely off topic from my goals and thusly not worth bringing up.

So I saw this post on twitter and posted it to discord, but @celestriakle pointed out that it was a screenshot of a reddit post that was originally posted to tumblr, and then another screenshot of that was taken of that tumblr post and put onto twitter.

I'm specifically thinking of, well, what if I actually go whole hog in on using 3D models for Line art and base color, and then use CSP to do shading and rendering from there? So in the end it should look completely 2D but using elements of 3D modeling, animating, and posing.

It would be ideal is to make the 3D models from as scratch as much as physically possible--like for the Ouma Twins, I'd definitely want to make them from scratch with Blender. Though with characters from Genshin, I worry that trying to recreate the accessories and clothes from those over-complicated designs would be akin to just, me trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak, so I might just rip the models from the game and use the clothes (with some modifications) with custom base meshes for the bodies and such.

idk--I don't ever really planning on selling my artwork ever again, whether it be for commissions or prints or anything of the sort (I just do not enjoy that at all, way too much stress) and I'd like to cut the production time of my art down to a much more reasonable level for myself so I can enjoy the process of making artwork again, even if the way I'm personally doing it may not be traditional/is kind of out there.

Again this will be mostly for fan art and fan projects anyway with no monetary value being gained, so I can't really see why this experiment would be a problem, but I have been worried about being judged for it to be quite honest with you.

I have realized that I don't like drawing. And I think it's mainly because of the fact that when I start drawing, I go into hyperfocus mode.

This makes my brain disconnect from my body and, well, hyper focus on the art--but at a huge cost

I often sit in the same spot for over 6 hours, usually 9 or more. I don't feel hunger or thirst or exhaustion. I don't even feel it when I have to use the bathroom! So when it takes me hours upon hours upon hours just to get line art and base coloring done, by the time I'm "done" for the day I'm well beyond my physical limitations.

Which makes art miserable for me!

And I dont want that!

I'd like to knock down the focus to half an hour to one hour chunks, and I can try to achieve this with alarms, but...

The second problem is my obsessive tendencies with art--Once I start I usually cannot stop or task switch, and I obsess over the art when I'm not doing it/not beyond my physical limits

I've been having a bit of a rough time irl which has made me kinda quiet but!!! It's getting better now methinks.

Goood shut uuuuuppppp!!! Yes the design of his hat is in very poor taste!!! And yes he's drawn with a "Panta" but in other official artwork he is drawn with OTHER SODAS like Ramune!!!

Why are you people not criticizing Korekiyo's design? Or Kiyotaka? Or Fuyuhiko, for being a literal mob boss character??? Or Hifumi, whose design is EXTREMELY bad regarding a fat person's anatomy?
