Sadly, this specific "human work" data cannot apply to older works made before the update, so this is what that looks like with a wip document that I did a 30 minute writing sprint for... though it was more like 28 minutes since I stopped before the end of the timer haha

In that time frame:

I wrote 54 words on average per minute (about 800 words in total for my WanDurin fic chapter)

I actively wrote for 18 out of those 28 minutes

Paused my writing about 45 times to do a hard Thunk

I think that this data is interesting, even outside of "proving" a human wrote this document! It makes me wonder if my writing speed has less to do with my words per minute and how many minutes I am actively writing for--and how much I'm "pausing" for. I know I can reach about 1k words in 30 minutes of writing on a good day, so that metric will be something I study more as I go along with writing more with the "Emboss" feature turned on.

More interesting data from the same chapter of my Wandurin wip:

My writing scores is a "Most adults can read this" score according to the metric system Ellipsus is using to judge my writing, which is exactly where I wanna be. I've looked at the specific metrics for some of AWBHT too and it has consistently fallen within this range. I'm quite proud of that! I always aim to make my writing accessible, but my target audience is usually adults.

My vocabulary isn't diverse, and that is intentional--it's part of why my writing's readability is so consistently accessible I think. I intentionally use plain, simple-to-read words and language, choosing to describe things with them instead of finding words with hyperspecific definitions. I think this is also why my writing tends to get lengthy, but while Ellipsus recommends I diversify my language a bit, I'm not entirely sure if that'll work with my stylistic choice of using plain and simple language with vivid descriptions.

There are probably some words I can swap out with each other more, but other than that, this might be one of those "unfixable" problems that's not really a problem. You guys like my writing style anyway, so I'm not too worried!

My passive voice tends to hang around 10% of my work, but usually falls under 10% with the track record from other writing projects as well. Nice!

Oh dear god--

This might be part of my "unfixable problem" as this ties in to my stylistic choice of using plain and simple language in my writing. Naturally, I'm going to be repeating a lot of the same words over and over again, haha.

Maybe it would be worth looking into synonyms for words, but that feels more like an "editing" thing for later, huh?

Anyway, really loving Ellipsus' Premium feature, I definitely want to purchase it for these metric features alone! They help me get a better insight on my writing, and maybe can help with editing to make my writing better later down the road, too. Though... ah, I don't know if I can do that to Star regarding AWBHT, but I want my writing to be consistent throughout the fic...

Zandik's segments, to my understanding, are all like husks--stagnant shells. They reflect a time and place, and he himself is aware of it; he mentions in the story he has no desire to change. How does this tie in?

Wanderer is all about change. Adaptation, resilience, down to the very conversation with Paimon. If you don't like who you are or how you feel about who you are, then do something about it. If you don't like how you're going about that, then try a new approach. Omega shows us repeatedly that he uses the same methods... and it's no wonder he's getting the same results. But then why is he doing it? He's a self-aware person. That's the reason itself. You can't avoid what you are. (Bullshit might I add.)

So this angles back to my point; if he's so incapable of growth, and he becomes aware of it, what would the next step be?

You need only to look at Wanderer to see proof that change is possible.

As a side note, I adore Pantalone's presence after this because he fully acknowledges not only Omega's vision, but his plight with this very issue. I fully believe him saying goodbye was his truthful way of treating Omega as a unique person, unlike any segment or the original Zandik, uncaring if Omega wanted him to do that or not--he just said what he felt (Person, or Deception? Zandik, or Il Dottore?). That kind of bond is... so incredibly interesting when you're dealing with a narrative of nobody else being given the privilege to speak their mind in the doctor's presence. But that's besides the point.

But back to the main point, if Zandik made all the segments to be static and his own life was unable to be prolonged... Well, irony is that he'd just have to cheat death multiple times, huh? A man who doesn't treasure life would certainly learn a lot about it after all this time. If the original had qualms doing what needed to be done, Omega certainly did not.

Wanderer has had to spend quite some time accepting that he isn't human, while perhaps, Omega was incapable of accepting that he was. If we get one more rebirth, maybe we'll see that kind of true paralleled growth once and for all, seeing as his lives are used up and theoretically, Pantalone wouldn't be capable of handling another contract of this nature.

I'm only speculating that if he were to return, he could formulate a way for Pantalone to live a little longer, but that's a hard guess. Also besides the point, I just want more of their banter.

Whether Omega was truly unable to grow is debatable, and I like that. I'm conflicted about what to make of his actions in grabbing the traveler; his self-hatred speaks for itself but I also believe his existence naturally will want to be whole, too. And it's not going to be pleasant at all for him, oh boy. But as for the Traveler, or why he wanted them to join his side to begin with... I'm not sure what benefit we could've had to his plan if my thoughts are correct and he essentially figured we'd move down this trajectory. I suppose that was his weird way of showing us respect while also trying to offcenter us.

His funeral will be a grand affair indeed, and I look forward to further answers... and questions, because this man only brings more questions.

This bitter butthole has more layers than an onion

The way Dottore says this as it just, Zooms in on Wanderer. How we learn in a minute or two that Dottore knows who he is, or was. That he knows Wanderer was Scaramouche, the 6th.

We know how Dottore and Scaramouche were "partners", how Zandik "studied" Scaramouche's anatomy to make his segments.

We also learn from the 3.3 Interlude Quest (for as much as I hate rewatching it, CTVM save me--) That Scaramouche thinks that his body being heavily mutilated to the point where he would not be able to move outside of the machine is nothing new to him.

Just--this information re-contextualizes that line, that camera pan to zoom in on Wanderer.

It tells us that when Dottore put Scaramouche in a cage, he gave up the will to run. That didn't mean he was happy where he was--in fact, it means quite the opposite. He was in a cage. He never had a choice.

The misery I feel rn... There was so much pain and abuse and torture in Scaramouche's life, all thanks to Dottore.

the story, and nahida within it, has been so clear that wanderer is not only a person but human; he is a part of the human world, and he has experienced human loss and human grief.

Insane to me that Dottore just casually declares (to Wanderer's face, no less!) that the deaths of Niwa, Katsuragi, and the Boy were Scaramouche's Mistakes When Dottore is fully responsible for their deaths and the Tatarasuna Incident.

Dottore didn't keep that shit to himself. He told Pantalone.

At least one currently living Harbinger is aware of Scaramouche's existence to a somewhat detailed extent, at the bare minimum.

That means we're not done with Wanderer. This AQ sure felt like a finale for him, and in a way, it was! He got to face off with his main abuser and came out on top. But the game is hinting over and over that the concept of "Scaramouche" isn't dead in the water, and Dottore confirms that it is theoretically possible to even reinstate Scaramouche into the world memory (he just personally refused to do so because he wants to hurt Wanderer as much as he physically and mentally and emotionally can)
