I’m certain that if we gave them an egg, they’d raise it together.” “So, what you’re telling me is that my family has unwittingly created a lesbian dinosaur utopia.” “I mean… yeah, you could certainly put it that way,” Alex allows. Henry laughs, practically giddy. “I think that may be the best thing I’ve heard all year.”

I don't usually think about my fic posting anniversaries but this one lingers with me - after all it ended up tapping out at nearly 145k and really stretched not just my writing and world building skills but also any artistic ability may have lolz (complete with map even lolz) but this was a crazy lil ride but so fun

also this fic was the first of mine to ever get a playlist not made by me and i've been listiening to it this morning cuz feeling nostalgic

No one tagged me but I am here anyway with a teaser for chapter 2 of High Ticket Attractions!

In the end, the sandals are the least of Henry’s problems. Yes, the ground is a bit soft, but Alex was clearly overselling the mud to put him off. That’s not to say that the day is pleasant. The bugs are ruthless, and although Henry did bring repellant on the trip, he’d forgotten to pack it in his bag for the day, so he spends a miserable couple of hours swatting at them ineffectively before Alex throws a bottle of bug spray at him and snaps that all of his rustling is affecting the recordings. They don’t actually see any dinosaurs, only hear some low booming grunts and growls that nevertheless sound too close for Henry’s comfort. Alex barely speaks to him except when he absolutely has to, demanding silence for most of the day and answering the questions Henry does manage with monosyllables. By the time they return, Henry is itchy, filthy, and in an absolutely rotten mood, which is not improved by the way Alex seems downright pleased with himself. Still, Henry asks, “Same time tomorrow, then?” when Alex parks the Jeep amongst the collection of identical vehicles at the staff accommodations, and gets some gratification of his own at Alex’s surprise. Clearly, he expected to chase Henry off after today.

I talk about them all the time. the trick is to find someone you’re comfortable with or someone who’s also not normal about the character.
