I'm in a rambling mood, so I'm gonna spew as many Nature Documentory headcannons as I can think of. Gather around me mateys, cus we be getting BOOTY!
Wanwood is very much a morning person, while Vee is a night owl. Wanwood is one to wake at the crack of dawn and get all the housework done before Vee has even fully waken up yet, meanwhile Vee lives for the night life and will often be out long after midnight. This definitely forms its problems for them, it makes finding the right time to hang out together without being exhausted diffacult, but they make it work. Often times Wanwood will watch Vee while she sleeps, just to make sure she's alright. She's terrified there might be a day she won't wake up, so she watches over her, sometimes to the detriment to her own sleep. Whenever Wanwood struggles to fall asleep due to stress, Vee will turn on some white noise and heat up her body to help her calm down.
Vee loves photography, it started as a way of showing off her graffiti, but quickly became a whole new hobby in of itself. She always has her camera on her whenever she's outside, just in case she runs into something picture worthy. Her favorite subject are urban landscapes and sky pictures, but she likes taking portraits and natural environments as well. She posts a lot of her pictures online and even sells some prints, or takes on jobs to photograph people, she's surprisingly skilled. She doesn't post all of them though, she has a collection all for herself, usually of photos she's taken of Wanwood. She thinks she's absolutely gorgeous and will take any oppurtunity to photograph her. She always brings her camera whenever they go on dates together to document where they go and what they do together, then puts them all in a scrapbook. Whenever she needs something modeled for her, she goes to Wanwood, just to have an excuse to take pictures of her and to fawn over how stunning she is.
Vee LOVES to pull pranks on Wanwood, usually harmless stuff that makes her laugh. Though at first she didn't quite know where the line was, and paid the price for it. When you spook a prey animal with a crippled leg, you'll quickly learn flight is not an option. Veeronica attempted to grab her from behind once and got thrown right over her shoulder for it, quite impressive considering a CRTV by itself is 50 pounds. She ended up bashing her screen in on pure instinct when she snuck up behind her. Let's just say Vee learned not to try and scare her anymore after that... Her favorite is to record Wanwood doing stuff around the house and commentate on it like a National Geographic show. "Here we see the white tailed deer in its natural habitat" type shit. It never fails to make Wanwood giggle until her cheeks grow sore.
Veeronica has a lot of style, as we all know looking at her skins, girl is STUNNING! Wanwood mostly views clothes simply as something practical and comfortable instead of a form of self expression, but the moment girl was exposed to dresses, she was HOOKED! While Vee doesnβt like feminine clothing much, she was over the moon to help her find her style. While she doesnβt have a face, she learned a lot about makeup from Noob, so she taught Wanwood everything she knew. Since Wanwood gets very uncomfortable in large crowded spaces like shops, Vee usually buys her clothes she requests or thinks sheβll like as gifts. Wanwood really likes cottage core stuff and sundresses with floral patterns. They don't borrow each other's clothes very often, but on rough days Wanwood will wear one of her big oversized hoodies. Every trans person can vouch that big overside hoodies are the best cure for body dysmorphia.
Wanwood is not designed for urban environments, they're very overwhelming and distressing for her. Have you ever seen a deer that got stuck in a city before? They are NOT built for the city and neither is Wanwood. She'll glue herself to Veeronica's side, squeezing her hand and refusing to leave her side. She has a very hard time crossing the street, the deer instincts kick in and she becomes a literal deer in headlights. Vee has to help drag her along so she doesn't cause traffic or get run over. Don't put Wanwood in a car, it's very claustrophobic for her and car seats are not built for digigrade legs. If she does get in a car, she's curled up in the back seat taking a nap. Veronica can drive, but Wanwood doesn't know how to, and most likely can't. Luckily their town is very walkable, so they don't need to be out for long or go very far. Vee makes sure to take her to a nice coffee shop or whatnot to destim and reward her for not becoming roadkill.
Vee is a biiiiig yapper, while Wanwood's a listener. She'll go on and on about her favorite shows and video games or someone annoying she met at a party, and Wanwood will just nod along. She don't understand a lick of what she's talking about, but her excitement is contagious, and she likes to listen to talk for hours. She could read the phone book cover to cover and she'd be fully entertained. That doesn't mean she doesn't engage, she tries her best to understand what she's going off about, but most of it just flies right over her head. It goes the other way too, Wanwood loves to share what she knows about flora and fauna, and Veeronica is genuinely curious. It's clear that they both adore each other's company.
Veeronica is TERRIFIED of bugs, the kind of person to scream and leap up on the counter when she sees a spider. Wanwood is the complete opposite, she loves bugs and refuses to kill them. Vee is freaking out screaming, meanwhile Wanwood picks it up with her bare hands and goes "let's get you back outside little buddy." Her favorite kind of bugs are butterflies, especially monarch butterflies, there's totally not a trans allegory in there. She's slowly getting Vee to like them as well, butterflies are very pretty, and many moths are super fluffy and adorable. She's slowly getting showed her one photo of a silk moth and she was sold.
Wanwood is VERY tech illiterate, she's the kind of person that accidentally turns her whole phone into spanish trying at access settings or put a school up for sale trying to google something. Girl is completely out of her depth and very confused on how any of this works. Luckily, Vee is a living machine, so she knows how everything works, and is plenty patient with Wanwood's boomer level tech incompetence. She doesn't use her phone much, usually just to stay in contact with Dusekkar long distances and whenever Vee is out and about. In general Wanwood is very unnerved by technology, especially medical stuff. The idea of stuff being stuck into and sliced open very unsettling, despite her use to being stabbed and cut. She's the kind of person that needs to be held down for a shot because she WILL fight back, and having lived in the woods all her life, she has a lot of them to catch up on. Vee holds and praises her afterwards, shaking like a crumpled leaf in her arms.
Veeronica's ideal date is urban exploring, clearing tall dilapidated building reclaimed by nature, and reaching its apex to enjoy the view together. Wanwood often struggles to keep up with her leg, but Vee doesn't mind slowing down and helping her climb up the more difficult parts. The view at the top is always breathtaking, watching the sun set without the taller buildings to block it out. Wanwood, of course, enjoys dates anything that has to do with nature. Hikes, picnics, visiting the local botanical gardens. Sheβs a great nature guide as one would expect, and Vee is an eager listener. The two love going to parks to feed the birds seeds and go on picnics. Sometimes Wanwood will Join Vee to the skatepark to watch, sheβd love to join, but her disability makes sports like that difficult. Sheβs plenty happy just cheering her on from the sidelines.
Wanwood has a hard time eating consistently, due to having to go long stretches without food. She just doesnβt notice sheβs even hungry, so she can go an entire day without eating and not even notice. She developed a few bad habits around food due to living in survival mode for so long and being in a constant state of danger. She isnβt use to abundance or safety, so she ends up doubling down on her bad habits for a sense of familiarity. Vee is vigilant about reminding her to make sure she eats enough to stay healthy, sheβs gonna fatten that deer up and spoil her rotten! Despite not being able to eat, Vee LOVES to cook for others, she is a helperbot after all. The two of them love to bake together, if Vee could eat, she would be constantly stealing ingredients just to get on her nerves. Food has always been a means of survival for her, so she hasnβt gotten the chance to try a lot of things, so Vee loves taking her places to try and convince her to try new things. She managed to get her to drink alcohol, and she hates it, though she doesnβt mind mead. Veeronica made weed brownies once for Noob and their friends, Wanwood got ahold of one, and boy was that an experience for her. I donβt know if sheβd finally chill tf out just or revert to a normal deer.
When Veeronica goes out, she likes to take Wanwood along for βscary dog privileges.β Sheβs very protective of Vee, she wonβt let creeps or cat callers do anything to her. If anyone tries anything, Wanwood will handle them. Someone at the bar groped her? Congrats, youβre a frog now! Thereβs a guy following them down the street trying to βwalk them home safely,β heβs now been teleported onto a 10 story building with no available elevator. Get on her nerves enough and she wonβt even use magic, just her muscles and antlers. Itβs two sided as well, Vee is just as eager to throw hands for her girl. Wanwood struggles to pass, which garners her a lot of unwanted attention from wild bigots and TERFS alike. Sheβs plenty able to handle them on her own, but Vee just loves to beat up transphobes so much she just lets her at em. Wanwood will watch as she just beats a TERF into the pavement and fall even more deeply in love with her.
I wouldnβt describe these two as enemies to lovers, more like βGod sheβs SO annoyingβ to βI NEED her carnally.β Vee is a professional rage baiter and Wanwood has such a short temper. Theyβre both stubborn as hell, but Vee always wins out in the end. Teasing is just her love language, and boy does she get on Wanwoodβs nerves. At first, Wanwoodβs opinion of her was along the lines of βsheβs so annoying, but I feel safe around her, Iβd rather be comfortable than unbothered.β Eventually she got used to to her constant jabs and playful insults, Veeronica learned when she was pushing the wrong buttons, and the annoyance just became fun. Despite how much Vee gets on her nerves, she always manages to make her laugh, or help her see the bright side of a situation. Her positivity and smile are infectious, so she just gravitated towards her. It turns out that Veeronicaβs stubbornness is exactly what she needed, as sheβd often neglect her own health and wellbeing out of pride. In turn, Wanwood put her in her place and got all her rude brattiness out of her system. Sheβs still a brat, but sheβs toned it down some. Wanwood got someone she can feel safe with, and Veeronica got someone she can tease until her cheeks get sore. Theyβre just so perfect for each other. π₯°
Wanwood gets very stubborn when it comes to her disability. She wants to be fully capable of taking care of herself, so accepting help from others feels like sheβs giving up her autotomy to someone else. Sheβll overwork herself on the good chronic pain days she has, and inevitably end up burned out and in terrible amounts od pain the next. Sheβs use to roughing this stuff out alone, sheβs use to being self sufficient. Luckily, Veeronica is equally and stubborn, and sheβs going to teach her how to accept help whether she likes it or not! She will hold Wanwood down if she has to, she will make her take a break and take care of herself. Sheβs fully strong enough to pick up and carry Wanwood bridal style if she needs her too, although itβll deal catastrophic damage to Wanwoodβs ego. Vee loves being of service to others, so sheβs over the moon at a chance to pamper and care for Wanwood on her bad days. Sheβs got breakfast, ibuprofen, and massages for days!
For Fauns, the buck will propose to their partner of interest by giving them their shedded antlers, since deer shed their antlers soon after rut season. Itβs seen as a way to show their devolution and dedication by giving them a part of themself, and to always having a piece of their beloved with them. Since antlers come in pairs, itβs seen as a symbol of them becoming a pair. Sometimes the buck will carve the antler into a tool, or something ornamental, or theyβll let their partner choose what to do with it. While Wanwood hasβ¦ complicated feeling about her buck features, she highly values tradition and Faun customs, due to loosing her biological family at a young age and her being one of the few remaining Fauns left. So instead of a ring, she gave Vee her antlers to propose. What did she do with them? She keeps them somewhere private for her to admire and preserve, sheβs VERY sentimental about it. Genuinely one of her prized possessions, no one else is suppose to see it but her.
And just in case you were wondering, they are both switches. More often than not though, Veeronica is a power bottom and Wanwood is a service top.
