whenever the Scouts have casualities, and Erwin has to write a stack of those fucking letters that will ruin someone's life (he writes them all himself, because they were his men), he addresses the envelopes but doesn't seal them. he knows Levi will sneak in later that night and slip the patches he managed to salvage in with the letters. Erwin will seal them on the morning and have them sent out first thing.
