Iâm sitting at my computer, trying to play a game and relax; but my mind is miles from Eorzea, running over at least 15 things that I have to do in the next 24 hours. It is going to take some time to just breathe again.Â
I am not what I would call a âtogetherâ person. It is a life goal, for sure, but I am nowhere near that now. I try to walk a balance of personal accountability whilst not beating myself into the ground over it. On one hand, I spent over three fourths of my life with a DSM grab bag full of untreated chemical imbalances in my brain.  On the other hand, I am 36 years old, can tie my own shoes and everything, and for the most part those issues donât go untreated now. I canât say that there is nothing standing in the way of me getting my act together; but the obstacles- and plausible excuses- have significantly decreased.Â
Admittedly, the past few months- heck, the past year or so- hasnât been particularly conducive to most of us for making any headway towards a happier healthier life. For me personally, a crazy oppressive situation at a job I used to love and the death of a furry family member really poured salt in the collective wound that was 2016. Fast forward to now, and I am coming off of a 14 hour day, 6 week unpaid training course as well as the loss of a second beloved pet.Â
But I am going somewhere good. In spite of everything- the devastating loss of Anwynn, having to go off stabilizing meds to put in the long hours, hitting the red in my bank account again and again over the past two months, I passed.Â
Passing the program means that in September, I will join the ranks of inner city teachers, mentoring the future. I will be doing a job that means something, serving others and not just working towards a paycheck. While there is no magic formula for instantly getting my life together, not feeling like a waste of space, feeling like I am actually in a position to benefit someone other than myself- thatâs a powerful motivator.Â
More immediate step: telling the crippling anxiety to back off, remembering to breathe, and take everything one step at a time. Â
Inspired Healing
A little bottle to focus on a general healing and well being of a person.
Sea Salt
Lavender
Rosemary
Sage
Bay
Mugwort
Cinnamon
Sandalwood Oil
Pink Candle
Salt for purification, to lay a clean foundation
Lavender to inspire peace from any pain or discomfort
Rosemary to bring a feeling of youth again
Sage for inspiring long life
Bay and Mugwort to give strength during the healing process
Cinnamon to encourage fast healing and recovery
Sandalwood oil for success and healing
Pink candle for wax seal to inspire healing and positive thoughts
The first incarnation of this bottle was a loose incense to burn on a charcoal disk. It originally just didnât have salt. It was made for my father, who had a problem with his heart and was having trouble with day to day activities.Â
You could forgo a seal and choose to burn the mixture on a charcoal disc, itâs up to you.Â
I ended up using pink salt for aesthetic again at the top. A kind of bookend to the intention to purify the body.Â

Tips on Grimoire Organization
Please note that if you are using a hard bound notebook or journal, adding in additional pages will bulk up your book, like so: (these are the exact same journals, btw)
- Envelopes. Letâs say youâre doing a section on Tarot in your Grimoire, and you want to include a few Tarot spreads, but you donât want to waste two or three pages. Glue an envelope onto one of your pages to make a âpocketâ where you can store little cards or papers with the tarot spreads written on them.
- Pockets. Similar to the envelope idea. If you have a page, or section for example, on herbal teas, you can make a pocket out of a piece of paper to keep your current favorite tea recipes in.
- Dividers, Cover Pages and Ribbons. If youâre like me and you like to have âsectionsâ in your grimoire, you can easily make dividers by gluing a sheet of paper in your book (to make it heavier to make the sections stand out more). You can go further by turning your divider into a cover page for that section. And if you donât like the idea doing that, you can always glue a ribbon, or a string, to the spine of your book to act as a bookmark.
- Double pages. I always had a problem with âwastingâ pages in my grimoire. For example, my page on consecrating and charging. These two concepts are very similar to me, and I didnât want two page stating the same thing. So, what I did was write out all my information on charging on a separate sheet of paper, then glued the top of that page into my grimoire. This way I could flip up the page on charging (as if it were on a clipboard) and have my page on consecrating underneath.
- Extended pages. Similar to the one above. In my Crystal section of my Grimoire, I decided to write out a chart that let me search for crystals by intention. So I drew my chart on a long sheet of paper, then folded it over (side to side) so that it fit comfortably in my book, then I just glued one side down into the book.
- Brochures. In my Elements section, I had a ton of information I wanted to write down, but I didnât want each element to have more than two pages. So I used a piece of computer paper and folded it into a brochure (or into thirds) and glued it into the book so that the flaps would open and give me double the space to write.
- Clear Tape. There are many times where i finished a page in my grimoire only to find out there was a section that I left out. A simply way to fix this was with clear tape. I would write my forgotten bit of into on a separate piece of paper and then use clear tape to tape one side of the paper to my page. This allows me to flip the paper back and forth without covering up anything that I had written.
