Lucius is just staring at him, mouth agape. Cesare takes another sip of his drink and expends the monumental effort to raise a single eyebrow at him.

“Something you’d like to say, Eternal?”

“You were a slut!” The words come out of Lucius in a delighted howl of laughter. “You! Oh, who all did you fuck? I have to know!”

Cesare’s entire head moves with the force of his eye roll and his chest heaves with a sigh, but he slumps down slightly and starts ticking off names on his fingers. “Eidolon. Narvo. Hmm… Oleander… Akurduana…”

“I don’t recognize that last one,” Lucius frowns, and Cesare waves a hand dismissively.

“He was eventually lost during the Crusade, before your time.”

“Oh. I’m sorry?”

“It was just sex, Lucius,” Cesare sighs. “No strings attached. Anyone could be the next dead, so we thought there was no reason… I didn’t feel anything for him. You don’t have to give me sympathy for his death.”

Lucius nods, and sits back slightly, drumming his fingertips more or less rhythmically against his thigh.

“Did you ever fuck Bile?” He asks eventually, a sly smile creeping across his face that immediately falls when he sees Cesare’s cheeks flush. “You-”

“No,” Cesare snaps, “I didn’t. Not for lack of trying, but he was singularly focused on his research even back then.”

“Not for lack of trying?”

“He used to be hot!”

WH:ACO Soft Headcanon time!

Sleepy Yvgeny Edition: How would the space marines react to Yvgeny falling asleep on them/in their lap?

Bethael: It would be agony because he would be trying to hold still to not disturb Yvgeny, but we know our favorite khornate is a restless one.

Lyphos: It might be one of the rare moments the great and magnificent Lyphos finally shuts up, because he is busy keeping the nightmares at bay so the favorite mortal can get some rest.

Sefice: Its a surprise given the ever potent smell always emanating from the nurglite. He guesses either Yvgeny is so exhausted he would have knocked out anywhere, or the all the lho sticks finally destroyed his sense of smell. Sefice doesnt struggle to keep still or quiet, he allows Yvgeny to rest as long as possible.

Byzanti: He's genuinely touched that Yvgeny trusts him in such a way. Like Lyphos, its one of the rare moments the Slaaneshi actually shuts up. He's very gentle with Yvgeny, adjusting his posture so the spikes dont hurt him, maybe massaging his back, perhaps even softly petting his hair. For a being all about pain and pleasure, he knows how to be tender.

I think you hit the nail on the head with Sefice's reaction here, he would indeed let Yvgeny sleep on his lap for as long as he needs and definitely make sure that no one disturbs him, probably taking the opportunity to meditate and enjoy the present moment.

What I would like to add to that is the fact that it is actually not as unlikely for Yvgeny to fall asleep next to Sefice as you might think. Because Nurgle is not only associated with decay and disease, but also stillness and apathy, and the attributes of the god affect the environment around his champion, there is reason to believe that the space around Sefice would be noticeably quiet.

And quiet, on the Carcass, hanging out with these unhinged marines all day long, would be a LUXURY for poor Yvgeny. With everything that he goes through on a daily basis, if he bumps into Sefice and suddenly the world stops screaming at him and he gets to sit down and catch his breath and just kind of zone out for a moment, I honestly think the smell doesn't even really factor in the equation at that point, he needs that nap too badly.
