We’ve got a languages trainee at work who I already hate because she’s crap and unprofessional and generally annoying and she’s ruined my y7 classes but apparently that wasn’t enough bc yesterday she reversed into my parked car, told me it was only some paint but it’s clearly broken, and she knocked the sensor so whenever I drive slowly it beeps incessantly lmao

In 13 years of teaching, no students have ever made me cry. Today I got pretty fucking close. I was doing a gcse french revision session (it’s not my degree it’s my secondary specialism and I’ve never really taught it past y9 but they were foundation there so the content was fine) but the kids have all been made to do French against their will so they’re really shitty about it and the behaviour was awful and it just felt like I was fighting for my life the whole time. They had a little lunch break then came back and I had to hold back tears because I just didn’t want to do it any more. The only other time I’ve felt like that was when I went back to work too quickly after my grandma died. I think we’ve pushed them too hard and they should be on study leave now but we keep dragging them through these long revision sessions and we’re all too tired. So my day was tutor, French, drama, double French revision, English revision because that exam is tomorrow, and then detention duty after school. I’m so fucking tired of this job wringing out every last scrap of energy I’ve got.

I’ve updated some of the framed photos around the house bc a couple of them had a friend in them who has never met max or even messaged me to ask how we’ve been in the 2+ years since he was born. It’s sad because we used to be really close and idk if she feels like I don’t make an effort or if there’s some kind of weird feelings about me having a kid but whatever man that’s not a friend any more

Max is so bloody cute he’s just on the floor playing w trains and chatting to himself and I’ve drunk my hot tea and we don’t need cartoons on rn we’re just chilling on a Sunday morning
