My sister is out of intensive care and doing better and I have to wait and do what I’m told but if I don’t see her soon I’m gonna be silently really upset about it but simply accept that it’s not up to me

Today was a lot. Finished my job of the last 13 years, my nephew was born but my sister is now in intensive care because she lost so much blood, I’m exhausted and feeling a bit helpless and idk what to do with myself so I’ve settled for ‘watch all 3 high school musicals and eat pizza’

I was a really good mum tonight. Max kept getting upset at everything and while I was getting frustrated I stayed really patient and didn’t raise my voice but I just probed him a bit asking what was wrong and if something happened at nursery and he eventually said that his friends hit him. Apparently there was some bumping and he got a bit bashed today, because it’s a room full of toddlers and they get overexcited, but just because we had a good talk and a really long cuddle he was so much happier and he just sat and listened to his stories and sang along to songs with me and we had the best snuggles. Then when I put him down for bed he asked for extra cuddles. Every bedtime and nursery drop off we do cuddle, kiss, bonk (bumping our heads together) and he insisted on doing it an extra time before I left him for the night and I helped him go from really upset to super peaceful and mainly I’m happy that he’s content but I’m just so proud of myself for doing such good mothering 🥰

Tonight is our department end of term meal but it’s also the leaving do for two of us and max is at my mum’s overnight so I might just drink an entire bottle of wine before I go out just because I can

At parents evening last week I suggested watching tv/movies with French sound on and I said ‘something you know really well because you won’t worry about missing the story, like I’d probably watch Gilmore girls’ and one of them came to me today and gave me a Gilmore girls themed blanket from her mum?! Because I mentioned it and she wanted to give me a present?! THATS SO NICE

Okay only 2 proper days left and then going in for final assembly then I’m free
