All of these hand and wrist exercises I’m doing had better be working because they are so fucking boring.

Does anyone use an alternative search engine that they're actually happy with? Because I've been using DuckDuckGo for a few months now and honestly? It's so shit. Just really bad at being a search engine. I would love to not go back to google but I can't keep living like this.

I have been using ScreenZen to restrict my instagram use for over a year now and I have decided that today it is time to turn it off, unfollow loads of accounts, and then see if I can get by on willpower alone for a while. Wish me luck.

I'm only 3 chapters in but from page 1 I was immediately fascinated by Suzanne Collins's choice to write The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in third person, past tense when all the other books are written in first person, present tense. I hoped to knit my first pair of socks by the end of this year but after today’s immediate humbling I will be changing that goal to within the next five years.

I really want to learn how to knit socks, even though the sum total of my knitting experience is two scarves, both made entirely with knit stitch. So, I found a beginner tutorial on YouTube and I bought the required yarn and circular needles and since I can’t crochet right now, I thought maybe today is the day I will finally sit down and start on these socks. First thing’s first, find a video that teaches me how to cast on. Easy. I have casted on the required stitches. I am ready to go! I have successfully completed the invisible join! Nothing can stop me! Next step, find a tutorial for purl stitch. Okay. Alternate knit and purl stitch. Now you’ve lost me. I’m gone. Less than ten stitches in and I don’t know which stitch I’m meant to be doing next. I don’t even know how many I’ve already done. The last stitch won’t move down the needle and I have no idea why or how to fix it. Immediately humbled. Yarn wound back up. Circular needles put away until I have practiced a few things.

I’m way too emotional these days. I just had a little cry because I loved seeing the eclipse so much and now I’m sad that I have to go to bed and the day will be over. Literally the thinking of a 4 year old.
