this one time i was in verdant brink and my flesh golem who i have nicknamed Kevin apparently grabbed a bomb from that one event where ur supposed 2 plant them at the base of jungle tendrils in like the start of the map
and we ran like halfway across the map before i noticed it on his hand and i thought it was some weird graphical bug but then i got attacked by something and he dropped this legitimate actual bomb Item i could interact with on the ground to go fight
so i looked it up on the wiki and i think i figured out how/why this happened- the explosive ordnance can be thrown βat the colossal vine, or to an ally to save time.β someone likely accidentally targeted Kevin with the bomb, passing it to him, where he couldnβt use it because. not a player. that is FASCINATING, honestly

So Halloween in GW3 can't have Thorn, so here is me and my wife's proposal, it celebrates the day Dhuum was defeated. Dhuum's Day, Dhuum's Fall, whatever, also, it could retroactively explain why the barrier between Tyria and The Mists is so weak around Halloween, usurping a God will probably do that.
I fully understand some people aren't excited by the announcement of Guild Wars 3 for various reasons (I've seen accessibility concerns about the focus on movement that was a very good point) but even today I am seeing new posts worried about some things Anet has already clarified, so here is a list of things they have revealed about all 3 games below the cut, but also here is their video about the 'Future of Guild Wars'
Guild Wars: Reforged AND Guild Wars 2 are not being abandoned for Guild Wars 3.
They are committing to releasing content for all 3 games moving forward.
Guild Wars: Reforged recently added new dungeons and heroes that were big successes, so they have said they are confident in moving forward with even more new content. They even teased a 'new type' of content (Guild Wars 1 Raids?!)
Guild Wars 2 will continue getting major releases, they even acknowledged that when GW2 was announced they completely stopped work on GW1, but that this time around they aren't making the same decision
After VoE the GW2 team will be spending about a year working on improving the game both outside and in.
As an example, they specifically mentioned that the Zhaitan fight at the end of the base game will be getting a rework. They will also be updating some of the engine (but that's too technical for me to explain/understand)
There is a Hall of Monuments 2.0 to link GW2 to GW3, it will release in phases, with the first phase launching this year.
To also tie into GW3 there will be a new open world map added to Orr that will be part of the base game, so everyone will be able to explore the area.
The 'caveat' that they did mention is that after VoE they are pausing expansions for GW2 temporarily till after GW3 releases. After GW3 comes out, GW2 will return to big yearly releases. I will admit on this point, I'm hyper aware that they said they'd pause 'expansions', but then said 'big yearly releases' instead of saying expansions again. I could just be looking too much into it, but I did notice the wording, and it could just be they don't wanna commit to the word 'expansion' if they decide to title the releases something else.
Now all of the above, to me, sounds great, that means if people truly don't care for GW3, they can keep playing any of the old games and still get to look forward to new content. Best case scenario (which I personally belive we are in) will be that GW2 keep getting the yearly expansions that keep the story moving into the future.
Now, we can't fully dismiss the idea that all of this could fail, and a year from now anet announces 'sorry we couldn't make it work, we are just focusing on GW3' and that could happen and I'd be really disappointed and upset. I mean for all of us playing during HoT, that dry period after the expansion launched was not a good time and it really questioned if Anet could step it up to produce regular content. But then I'd have to say that as time has gone on, they've been pretty good about it. Expansions came out on a regular schedule, sure sometimes the story in the yearly expacs have been... lacking, but they still were full of content that was fun and engaging I'd argue. They even said that if they were going to do the same thing as launching GW2, they would have stopped content over a year ago.
To me, the fact we have already had new Guild Wars: Reforged content, new GW 2 expansions, and now learning they've been secretly building GW3 all at the same time, feels like some proof of yes, they can actually do this. And it isn't without precedent, I saw someone on YouTube bring up the fact that EverQuest 1 kept getting expansions after EverQuest 2 released, which also got regular expansions at the same time.
So to end this, you can still be not excited about GW3, or even completely disappointed, but in case any of the reasons you had to not like the announcement of GW3 were addressed by Anet and you just didn't hear about it, I hope I've helped you clear some things up.
A livestream was held where they answered some questions, the main thing that follows this post is that they did address the wording of expansion vs 'big annual release' and they explained that they plan to continue annual EXPANSIONS, after GW3 launches, and the wording where they simply said a 'big release' was them just fumbling words. Not a big news, but I like that they did clear that confusion up, that yes, GW2 will keep getting new expansions after GW3 launches.
