So I've been playing Guild Wars 2 on-and-off for like 12 years now and man I sometimes forget how much had changed

Like, I remember when Heart of Thorns first came out but that's not too crazy

Do y'all remember profession trainers? And skill and trait points instead of hero points?

Do y'all remember when you needed to have an item with the skin to transmute another item before skins were an account-wide unlock?

Anything else y'all remember that have been removed or altered?

#the old trait system where you had to buy skills from a trainer and then allocate a certain amount of trait points was weird #town clothes inside the main cities (i remember it forced but maybe it was optional idk anymore)#also dyes being unlocked per character not account-wide #same with crafting recipes #personal story not level-locked so youd just die doing level 70 story steps on a level 40 character #wintersday in lions arch #servers before mega servers (stuck in french chat not able to speak french)#I was gonna say the only pvp map i liked got removed but i just googled and apparently you can still select it in specific game modes #well it got removed from regular matchmaking anyway. rip courtyard #not so much a change of system and rather a natural progression of the game but the economy was so different #when your armour broke and you had to repair it for 2 silver or whatever that actually hurt the wallet lol #bought character slots for 8 gold on the gemstore #also more recently: gliding locked to HoT maps. and subsequently mounts locked to PoF maps. simpler times.#there's probably so much more i'm forgetting

I got accosted by 2 Jehovah Witnesses and I tried to wiggle myself politely out of it but my social hints fell on deaf ears and they started going on about God's promise of a life with no suffering. Eventually they asked me if the idea appealed to me and I replied "Uh... eh. It's not very realistic." But that wasn't enough because they insisted "What if it were" and for some reason as a defense mechanism I went "Have you ever read Schopenhauer" and started a philosophical debate with them about the paradox of perpetual happiness
