[ID a large sign that reads, in all caps, āIām not interested in competing with anyone. I hope we all make itā in white letters over a black background. End id]
sometimes I hate how much modern clothing is determined to show womenās bodies
like if itās not skimpy, itās skin-tight- leggings, skinny jeans, bodycon dresses, etc.
doing historical costuming has made me hyper-aware of just howĀ āon displayā my body is when Iām wearing normal modern outfits, and it affects my behavior. donāt bend over to pick things up at work because men will stare at your ass. sit differently so you donāt show stomach rolls. a guy running a pop-up stand next to my shop commented so much on how I hadĀ āgreat legsā that I didnāt wear leggings and skirts- one of my favorite winter outfit combinations -for the rest of the season
thereās a certain freedom in medium-to-long skirts and skirt supports, I find: the freedom to define what people see of my body. men wonāt stop being creepy no matter what women wear, but I like that kind of dramatic body re-framing. you donāt get to see my legs and hips, Creepy Guys. you get to see a massive bell skirt, or a bustle, or an upended trumpet flower shape. my body is to be seen only by those Iāve chosen to trust, not the world at large
of course, empowerment is different for different women. some feel comfortable and powerful showing as much of their shape as possible, and I applaud them in doing exactly that. what pisses me off is the pressure from the fashion industry for all of us to be empowered by the same thingā¦a thing that just so happens to tie in with the diet industry and the cosmetics industry. itās easier to sell the idea that you have to be hairless and smooth and thin and blemish-free when itās all on display
sometimes I just wish I could go about in a hoop skirt and aĀ t-shirt that saysĀ āfuck offā in delicate script
BEST RESPONSE TO ANY POST OF MINE EVER
THANK YOU
Technically unless thereās a dress code for your work or whatever thereās nothing that says you canāt wear a hoop skirt everywhere.
Fight the man.
Wear a hoop skirt if you want.
I see this post a lot and Iām sure Iāve seen someone I follow add on this as well but if you agree with the sentiment of this post I really hope you also support hijabis and niqabis, because that is more or less the core of how we dress. Observing hijab is religious, yes, but dressing modestly is like as OP said āmy body is to be seen only by those Iāve chosen to trust, not the world at largeā. that is the exact sentiment behind why I wear niqab (the religious reasons for wearing it I donāt feel comfortable talking about a lot, because how i express my faith is personal and between me and Allah(SWT)), because I get to choose who sees my body and how much of it they see and because I like having that control and I think itās fun and I enjoy it!
If you now support people choosing to dress modestly for whatever reason, you must include supporting hijabis and niqabis who have been dressing modestly forever.
This was inspired by two things:Ā
1- Iām a bisexual woman dating a cis straight man. That doesnāt make me straight, and that doesnāt make my relationship a straight one. That doesnāt mean I belong less in the LGBT+ community than a gay person.Ā
2- The fourth example was not a joke. Iām in a fandom where two genderless entities with a temporary human shape are paired together. Iāve seen artists get hate because they drew themĀ ālooking straightā. The characters are still non-binary, still in love, STILL NOT STRAIGHT. Do not allow this toxic rhetoric in your fandom. Protect artists.Ā
**Noteā Forgot I meant to add aro and ace in there, sorry, but this TOTALLY INCLUDES ARO AND ACE PEOPLE.
THERE IS NO HIERARCHY OF WHAT IS MORE ACCEPTABLE IN THE LGBT+ COMMUNITY.Ā
Straight passing does not mean straight.

my love language is the same as a crow. if youāre nice to me iāll bring you useless little trinkets from my travels that made me think of you
Morally grey: A character who does too much bad to be a good person, but does too much good to be a bad person.
Sympathetic villain: A character who is a bad person, but whose backstory/character arc makes you feel sorry for or sympathetic towards them.
Anti-hero: A character who does bad things to achieve a good goal.
Anti-villain: A character who does bad things to achieve a goal that they believe to be good, but is actually messed up.
Just plain annoying: A character who does bad things to achieve a bad goal but has one throwaway line about a hard childhood that is expected to put them into one of the aforementioned categories when in reality it just makes them annoying
Ah, itās all clear now
On to the next hobby...

Scalding hot take apparently: if a demographic says āI donāt feel safe in the cisgendered heterosexual society, I need space in the LGBT communityā and you say āIām sorry, youāre not oppressed enough, get outā youāre a fucking asshole.
What this post is about;
Ace/aro people getting called ācishetā
Bisexuals getting called āstraight passingā
Straight trans people getting told theyāre not oppressed
What this post is not about;
Pedophiles
Iām doing good. Way better than ever, really. But thereās this buzz at the back of my brain that never really shuts up, day and night. I started to face it more directly last year but itās not easy. The last two days were bad.
Iāve drawn about all hard topics that hurt me, so I decided to tackle this one as well. One might ask the purpose of showing things like these to thousands of people but I find it cathartic in a way, to take it out of my brain for just a little while and quite literally put it into another physical place. I also think itās important to speak about the things that make us afraid and sad. Whatever way that may be. So, thanks for listening.

I would be the worst spy of all time because on one hand I overshare like hell, but on the other hand I also have THE shittiest memory so itās really a lose/lose scenario for everyone involved.
guy interrogating me: Whatās the passcode?
me: Ah fuck. I think it might be 792ā¦..4?
me: Actually no I think it starts with a 2.
me:
me: Yeah I usually just rely on muscle memory for it. Do you think you could get a keypad in here? That might be faster.
guy interrogating me: who do you work for?!
me: Okay, so this is super embarrassing. I know he told me his name when we first met but I forgot and at this point it would be weird if I asked him for his name again, right? So I just kind of go withĀ āsirā whenever I have to talk to him. It might be David though. He looks like a David.
me, after being extracted: bad news guys, I totally blew Daveās cover.
my boss: Wait, what?
me: Yeah, like they had knives and shit and it was kind of stressful so I just told them that my contactās name was DavidĀ Johnson. Really sorry about that.
boss: We donāt have a David Johnson working for us. Are you thinking of James?
me:Ā
me: Good news, guys, I did not blow Jamesā cover!
Enemy 1: So, how did the interrogation go?
Enemy 2: We got nothing. All they did was ramble on about their childhood trauma for two hours.
Enemy 1: Hmm. maybe lower the dose of the truth serum next time.
Enemy 2: We didnāt use truth serum.
me: So I managed to listen in on them for an hour through the air ducts
spy 2: and what did you learn?
me: Oh, nothing. I zoned out like five minutes into them talking.
I try to tell my team the way back to the enemy base, but I forgot the address and every time they ask which way to turn I do the L hand trick to remember left from right.

I always read that some rodents dig with their teeth, but how they did this actually mystified me for a long timeā¦.. Other places to see my posts: INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK / ETSY / KICKSTARTER
the demon i am on a first date with: i should apologize ahead of time. see my horns are so huge and majestic that i cannot put a shirt on. i am cursed to never have a shirt on so you can always see my (large) torso. i understand that might be rude me: dang. i am sorry for your situation. we will just have to try make the best of it
whatās good about this is that our demon here COULD wear a button down, but this has clearly never occurred to them which indicates that theyāre a himbo too
Me, staring at shirtless himbo demon and taking off my own shirt: oh my god, youāre so fucking stupid
