Sleipnir turned his eyes to Sasha, sitting and waiting obediently. "...service animal." He explained the aspect of her being well trained. So they had other animals here? Interesting all the same. He nodded when the other mentioned the vet checking her over. Sleipnir had did what he can but, it wouldn't hurt to get a proper answer on what she needed. And hopefully fix anything that warrented it.
Sleipnir nodded, taking his time to pick up what he had laid down and follow after the other. he approached the gate slowly, putting the bag back on his shoulder, the duck hanging loosely from one grubby hand. "Sasha, avec moi." The dog promptly was up and on his heel. He looked up upon the wall as they got closer.
He couldn't recall the last settlement they were in. You could never be too careful these days. But still, he had faith in what he could do. Sleipnir gave up his bag, taking the knife off of Sasha's vest and of course the belt of grenades. They went down just as steadily as he could manage.
"You need to do a thorough search?" Sleipnir asked the doctor once he was freed of his weapons, pulling the gloves off of his hands.
dan gave a knowing nod. they had suggested he get therapy, maybe an emotional support dog when he got home, almost seven years ago now. wasn't the same as a service animal, but he was grateful he had said no anyway. the last thing he could have handled in all this mess was taking care of a pet.
he watched sleipnir as he moved through motions, he was fairly certain this couldn't be his first township. he couldn't help but wonder why he hadn't stayed in one place for long if that was true. daniel was privileged, he had helped build arden into what it was today, he had spent two months out in the world before they found the camp that would later become the township. there was a difference between folks who had spent the last ten months out in the world and the folks who had hid behind walls the whole time.
sleipnir's bags were checked and a nod given to dan, who turned back with a warm smile. "easier to do it at the infirmary. rosemary can check out sasha then too. medical professionals are in short supply, so she usually helps care for the folks of arden with me." dan explained, watching as tamara offered the grenades back. arden had a strict registration rule when it came to weapons. god forbid there were raiders or a rambling flesh starved broke through their security, it was safer for most people to stay armed. helped keep people safe, but it also helped ease the minds of a lot of folks in town. not to mention, with registration, it would be easy to track down anyone who hurt someone for no good reason. grenades however, were a different entity. tamara seemed to make the temporary call that slep should keep his explosives, but daniel was sure that would change if slep decided to stick around.
