missionary position haters are crazy... you don't like making out while fucking ?
"I...do not know, your Majesty. I was quick to assume." He answered honestly.
He nodded when she confirmed what they had done - what she had accepted now.
"...nothing is given freely, your majesty." It was no slight against her. Just they way of things. "Truth be told, I have no home. And I would like to stay. What would you ask of me?" Nothing was given for free.
"You have a home here, should you choose it. I would ask the same from you as any of my subjects: a promise of loyalty. And, should you want it, I would offer you a position among my council. I have chosen a handful of fae for it already. You would be the only mortal among them. ...Kieran will be there as well, if that impacts your decision." Kieran wasn't happy about any of this, but that wasn't stopping her from making the offer.
A home.
It was a nice idea. Sleipnir couldn't even remember his human home. If he had one. He must have had one. He remembers he was married, the weight of a ring felt absent on his finger. So they must have had a home together.
"Hm, your council you say?" It was purpose. And to be the only mortal. Felt a little...special. Slepnir was not moved by the mention of Kieran. He had told Kieran he would take the fall, to leave after Basils...unfortunate departure. But he had assumed that was always the plan. Not this.
"May I take some time to consider? I could give you an answer tomorrow." He would like to explore this place now. Now that he was not chained to an elven king.

Sleipnir huffed through his nose, lips half curled into a smirk when the other said he was joking. "Well...now I feel stupid." He joked, settling on the edge of the bed - still taking the time to make sure the other was as comfortable as he could be. He didn't know what to call that look that Kayden was giving him. But...it was soft and kind. He hoped to see more of that face.
Sleip sighed, it was almost sad how translucent he was for the other to pick up on his concern just from a look alone. "I never said I was gonna check on you every half an hour..." he didn't have a strict time in his head. But the other was not wrong about his worry.
Sleip scoffed at the idea of it being impressive. "Impressive isn't a word I would use." He smirked despite his words. "...what do you want to talk about? You...?" Probably not. "Is...there anything you wanted to know about me? Or...anything important I should know?"
Kayden looked back at Sleip with the same soft face. "You're not stupid." Letting his fingers twitch slightly. Maybe he was mentally ill that he just wanted to kill people, or the abuse from his father made him ache.
Giving a gentle shrug when he said he wasn't going to check on him every half hour. "Whatever you say." Mumbling his words looking down then back at him in his eyes. "Uhh...no lets not talk about me. Let's talk about you. What is your plan exactly?...keep me in a cabin and detox my violent urges?" Then he let out a breath, "Sorry. That was uncalled for." Not trying to fight, he just had natural sarcasm. "I told you that I like you. I kissed you. So you tell me what do you feel?..interested in me or am I a pass?"
Despite himself, Sleipnir smiled. You're not stupid. It brought a warmth to his chest he could not deny.
He shrugged off the sarcasm. "I thought..." Whatever he was going to say about his plan was swiftly gone when the other continued. I like you. I kissed you. What do you feel? Sleipnir stared at the other for a moment before huffing, laughing really - his hand came to his jaw, scratching at the beard along his cheek. "There was a time I found it very easy to say exactly how I felt. And I was very unashamed of it. I think it was because I did not fear rejection then." He paused for a reflective moment. Pushing any fears aside. "I do like you." He agreed with a nod. "And I would like to...kiss you." He smirked. "Maybe tomorrow." His eyes fell to the bindings around the younger man again.
Sleipnir nodded. At least they could agree on that. Sleipnir did not want to be killed, and Kayden did not want to kill him.
Sleipnir nodded when the other tested the ropes. "Good." When the other agreed to being tucked in Sleipnir was taken aback a little. He was joking about the ideal but - how could he say no now?
Sleipnir helped the other to lad down, finding a blanket and putting it over the other. Tucking it around the younger man so it did not slip off in the night. Sleipnir adjusted his head, looking to Kayden now.
"When should I come and check on you?" It wasn't a question of if he should check on Kayden. Only when. He hesitated - stopping himself from brushing his hand over the others ropped together hands.
Kayden let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head against the pillow. "I was kidding about the tucking me in part, you know." His gaze followed Sleipnir's movements anyway, amusement softening into something warmer as he looked up at him. "Not that I'm complaining." He lifted his bound hands slightly before letting them settle back against his chest.
"And you don't have to keep checking on me every five minutes either. I'm tied up, drugged..well alcohol in me, and buried under enough blankets to survive a blizzard. I think you've done your job." Kayden tilted his head, studying the hesitation in the other man's expression. "If you're worried, stay for a while. Sit down. Talk to me. That's probably better than pacing around and checking on me every half hour."
A small smile at the corner of his mouth."Besides, if I somehow manage to escape all this, I think that'll be impressive enough that you'll hear about it immediately."
Happy Pride Month to all of my fellow aces!! 🖤🩶🤍💜
"You saying I'm drunk?" He smirked, another sip following. He didn't hate the hand on his shoulder, so did not shrug it off. He wasn't drunk - oh no - just a light buzz right?
"I dunno." He shrugged at the question of things becoming more awkward. "How good of a kisser are you?" He teased, another sip down and a nearly empty cup to show for it.
He considered the others words. Their supposed bond. It was humourous really. A familiar and a hunter of all things that go bump in the night. As Sleipnir says though, he only puts down the bad. But that hardly inspired hope for the supernatural in question.
"I'm not exactly a uh..." He looked around the room. "I'm not a known people person." He shrugged. "I'm sure I can look into it if you want. Sometimes it's more trouble then its worth though." Still. To be constantly tethered to another has its drawbacks. It forced him to reflect on all the ways he has neglected his body and life over the years. The aches he knew all to well were gone. Still there but - pushed onto another. And it wasn't fair.
"Our best bets would be a djinn." Risky. Very risky.
Samir pressed his lips together and lowered his head a little bit. Slowly, he pulled his hand away again because he didn’t want to make Sleipnir feel uncomfortable or anything like that. Was he seeing things? The other seemed drunk to Samir, or was it him judging how much the other drank because Samir would be very drunk at this point? Perhaps both.
“Uhm, no one ever complained about my kisses. Does that make me a good kisser?” the familiar asked and smirked just a little bit. He wasn’t vain or anything like that, nor was he someone to brag. But Samir wanted to joke along a little because it was a nice change from how they talked to each other usually.
Samir rested his hands in his lap and hummed a little bit. “I can tell that you are not a people person. But that’s fine.” Slowly, he turned his head to the side again to observe the other man’s profile for a little while. “Does it not bother you?” he asked out of the blue, his voice calmer than it should be given the situation. “Does it not bother you that you are bound to me?”
Sleipnir put his empty glass down, head turned to watch and listen to the other. "I don't think people make a habit of telling people if they are a bad kisser." He hummed. "If you're good, people usually tell you." He smirked.
"You can tell?" He asked. Sleipnir knew he was tough, but he tried to blend in. Apparently, did not try well enough. "Cann everyone else tell?" He asked softly.
At the question, Sleipnir looked at Samir. He twisted to face the man, bringing his knee up onto the bench and putting an arm behind Samirs shoulders - along the body of the seats the were on. Sleipnir thought of it just a moment or two before giving the other a shrug. "Doesn't warrant a feeling." He shrugged. "I know we don't get along but...it could be a hell of a lot worse. Obviously, I understand you wanting to break it - can't be ideal being bonded to a hunter." He shrugged. "You know, me getting - shot at, stabbed, chased through glass windows. I wouldn't wish that on others. Not if I could help it."

"I really like food - but I'm not great at cooking it, y'know?" Or just feeding himself in general. He tried cooking, but he just didn't have the skills or patience past foods with instructions on the back. Plus, a school teacher's wage wasn't quite enough for restaurants all the time even though he did enjoy eating out. Maybe he'd get a handy bonus from the work with NASA? Maybe it was something he should have discussed before doing so much... "Uh, yeah. First of all, the world is in crisis so I'm not wasting any food. Secondly, noodles like these got me through my college years. Third - they taste good." He slurped with purpose.
"...cooking is a skill. Requires work and consistency before you get any good." Sleip grew up cooking. Granted between the two of them, Grace was a more successful...everything. Saving the world kind of successful. Sleipnir was good at throwing his weight around.
Sleipnir pulled a face at the slurp. "Food eaten is not food wasted. And it's stuff like that we should be keeping." He gestured to the noodles in the cup. "What do you like?" He asked, curious of the others palette. "My grandmother made a rabbit stew for me growing up...it was the best." And despite his efforts he could not replicate her work.

open for all ryland grace from project hail mary. canon and oc muses welcome. can be an au where he doesn't go to space? I just want to write this goober.
"Y'know, I only eat fresh fruit and veggies when the lunch ladies - and one lunch guy - slap 'em on my tray?" Ryland stirred his cup noodles absent-mindedly with his fork. "So much for my five-a-day, huh?"
Sleipnir blinked at the guy. "...not much of a cook?" Clearly not. Sleipnir on the other hand, loved to cook. Not that he had the energy or time for it. He eyed the cup of noodled in the mans hands. "Are you really going to eat that?"
okay but what if sleip was a nathan drake/rick o'connell treasure hunter?
"More than human?" Sleipnir snorted, leaning against the wall. "We talking about a guy or a god here?" He didn't buy into the back and forth of who is superman. DId it matter really? Not to Sleipnir.
Sleipnir was ready to up and go when Clark spoke. What would you have done? He turned, returning to his spot as he pondered. "Why? Think I'm the big guy?" He joked, brushing his nails over his mouth as he thought. "If I had to chose? I'd make the same call." It was his truth. "I don't plan on going overseas any time soon. Least I can walk around this city knowing no one is mourning a loss I couldn't prevent." But Sleipnir was selfish. He did not want to be reminded of his failures.
"I'm a cynic though. I don't know if I would even do what he does if I could." He shrugged. "What about you Clarky, what would you have done?"
Clark's lips pursed together at the question. He knew he wasn't a god, but it always felt weird when people compared himself - or rather Superman in this instance - to a god. "He's not a god," he confirmed with a chuckle, "I thought Superman was some alien? At least that's what people keep calling him." The news spreads about him were always about his heritage from another planet. Not that he didn't know that. Though that didn't stop the god allegations clearly.
He chuckled and shook his head when he asked about him being Superman. "I don't think so," he replied trying not to appear nervous. Because I am, he kept the thought to himself. Sleipnir was right though in a way. The city was closer and needed addressing first. He wrote down the note as if he were going to do something with it in the article and not real life.
His eyes followed his pen until he was asked what he would do. Clark knew what he would do. He lived it. "I-I..." He trailed off as the pen stopped and he just stared at the paper "I guess I would've done the same thing," he finally replied and looked up at the other man, "If Superman was already here why not save the city real quick first?" He chewed on the inside of his cheek for a moment. "I mean the guy can't be in two places at once. Even if he's got some super speed. It just sucks to think he couldn't save everyone." The thoughts weighed on Clark. The loss of life. The inability to be in two places at once. It was harder on him every passing moment. Then he shook his head and asked, "Sorry, I haven't even asked how your day has been and what you're here for." The words were apologetic in tone.
"And here I thought you were the expert." He could only assume the man was shaken. A hero failing to do what they were meant to do. And Kent was always his number one.
Sleipnir listened. God the kid was optimistic. Always giving Supes an out...or reasonable doubt, rather.
He waved off the apology, standing to the side to let some reporter barrel past him. "Eh don't worry bout it." He shrugged. "Same old same old for me." Sleipnir found it easier not to talk about himself. "Just some -" He fished through his pocket, finding the list he had made. "On the ground reporting. Already handed it in so I'll be clearing out soon." Just swung by to bother Clarky, of course. He clicked his tongue, tearing out the sheet of paper and passing it over. "If you're looking for hope, these people spoke very positively of supes." He flipped his book, putting back and looked at the other. "Not that I'm a journalist. Just a good listener - at times. And I don't care to not be bias." He shrugged.
OPEN TO: any gender (m/nb only if romantic) PLOT: an art museum shortly before closing, there is no one else in the art exhibition except them TEST MUSE: fadi nassar, 42, he/him, gay, artist
he's been there since opening ⏤ observing people taking in his work. it's a surreal feeling, one he thought he would never be able to experience. fadi has spent his whole life working toward this moment but it's always felt that for every step forward he took he was knocked three steps back. but now, here he is, taking in his own exhibit in a renowned modern art museum. there are no words to describe the feeling that had blossomed in his chest that morning. it's a feeling he does not want to let go of any time soon. the day slowly winds down, patrons drifting out in waves. an employee with tired eyes and a practiced smile comes in to announce that the museum will be closing in twenty minutes. he thanks them before he realizes that the statement is directed towards them as well. the employee leaves, and fadi takes a few steps toward the final spectator who is stood in front of one of his works. "this one speaks to you?" his voice is soft, but it carries.
Sleipnirs sister was a saint. Always checking in on him and making sure he got his allotted time with strangers and people. And on very rare occasions, she would actually come across something that he would genuinely really enjoy. Other people would call this a gift.
Sleipnir twisted to listen to the man - the one warning him about the closing time soon. Sleipnir had already walked the floor several times. This was just one he found himself returning to. He fell into the quiet of the room again when a voice broke the quite again. He turned to acknowledge the man, then back to the artwork. He took a few more seconds to take it in. It had been a long time since he had done art. "I dunno about speaking but...I like it." He nodded. "I keep coming back to it. Must be a good thing. Least for the artist." He shrugged.

"two years later and you haven't changed."
"What can I say? I like to be boring and predictable."
my favorite genre of fictional character is like "i am terrifying to almost everyone, i'm very good at killing, i can endure anything, i've become exceptionally good at playing into my reputation, and if you try to give me positive social interaction i will react with confusion and cower in a corner like an abused animal. and i may try to shoot you. but there is also a chance i may imprint on you like a feral dog receiving its first loving touch! good luck."
