yknow what I've hardly seen anyone talk about her outside the context of ships (or potential ships) which, yknow, fair, but I wanted to give some love independent of all that to Claudia. I am REALLY enjoying her character. She is 100% the composite of the Fallout 4 sole survivor, someone that got swept up into the cryo vaults without much explanation into what they were and what this was going to mean. Everyone else in the pre-war group has been trained and prepared for this, they're still drinking the executive kool-aid so to speak- for a lot of them, this whole 'waking up 200 years later to a wasteland' is just a bump in the road to the ultimate goal (or even a stepping stone), but for CLAUDIA??? That fucked up highway in the distance that's now probably impassable because of raiders or some other wasteland monsters? From her POV, she drove down that highway a WEEK AGO to do a job interview! Her parents are dead! Her 'Puppy' she probably went home to 'last night' is dead! LONG DEAD! Everything she knew a week ago is GONE and has been for 200 years!!! THE BUILDING SHE WORKED IN A -WEEK AGO- IS NOW A RADROACH FARM!!! I LOVE that we get to see a character from pre-war cryo having REAL feelings of grief about their new world state and the means it took for them to get there, how much has changed for the worst, "like a bad dream you just can't wake up from" as Mama Murphy would put it. I just think that alone makes her so fascinating and I hope we see more of her trying to grapple with this new reality, because honestly even in Fallout 4 the opportunities we get to explore the Sole Survivor's feelings about this in-game are somewhat limited imo- which is fine, that's why fanfic and headcanons exist etc, but STILL, it's really cool to see that same grief/struggle reflected in a character in the show and maybe further explored. I JUST THINK SHE'S NEAT! (also she named her cat 'puppy' which is enough to earn my affections alone, and honestly I'm hoping she comes across a wasteland kitty to love and names it Puppy 2 or something)
