K9 is a refurbished combat secunit that got put in storage to be used as the equivalent of a parts car. Most of its mechanical and even organic parts had been swapped with cheap, non standard replacements. It lost track of how many times it had been cut open and torn apart (that's a lie, a friendly counter in its personal feed liked to remind it that it had been opened up 137 times).

It had brute forced its way through its governor module, effectively frying it, which still causes spikes of nerve pain even after it was given away by the company as a promotional advertisement.

Like its name suggests, it can be compared to an abused stray dog, and quickly attaches to its new human, Carter (oc owned by @localrobosexual). She had joined the company's giveaway as a joke, not thinking she would actually win. She was a student at a non corporate university, and was promptly kicked out once the news of her winning a refurbished combat secunit reached the schools council.

Needing money, the two begin taking on security and survey jobs. The promise of the protection of a combat secunit made sure they were paid well each job. While Carter focuses on spending their money on stuff they actually need, K9 will use its currency on ingame skins and weapons.

Also, its really bad at being rogue, lucky for it Carter knows basically nothing about secunits and things its side comments and behavior is normal.
