One time during winter, when my bed was still placed by the window in my room, I woke up in the middle of the night. The lights were on outside, it was snowing and the snow was completely untreaded. A person walked past, on their way home from something probably, it wasn't that late, I was just young and still had an early bedtime. I felt like I could hear how the snow crunched under the persons boots. Every now and then I still feel like I can hear that snow crunch, when I'm alone and in my bed at night. I think about how yellow the streetlights were back then, how the snow was falling gently, quietly, watching that person make the first foot prints. It felt like such a private moment, that I was allowed to observe. I don't know what it means. It gives me peace. It made me sad.
