I’m a gently seasoned artist and a neophyte writer.

I have two WIPs, an m/m/m story in its infancy titled (tentatively) Ganymedean, set in the Royal Navy of 1812

And a tangentially related Yule and Merrifield following two young men in the same period.

Photo I took aboard the USS Constitution during her underway for Boston Ship Parade. Sail ho!!!

A few of the salutes being fired produced these beautiful smoke rings and I managed to catch one (and a faintly visible second one?) Omg lads. Cannon fire sounds like a really loud drum beat and I could feel it all the way up my spine and into my chest. Strangely not as loud as I imagined but the first one in the salute always startles me even if I brace for it. The sound bouncing back from the nearby buildings in the harbor made it sound like what I imagine warfare sounds like.
