Kitty Kat, Meow Meow, My queen: 

Rest in splendid slumber, until you are reborn to this world in time to come. I know your next life will be easier, filled with fewer heartaches and fueled by a healthier body. My best friend, my sister, my confidante, and my strongest supporter. You were a light to everyone you met, you loved without hesitation, and gave all of yourself to those around you. Every day I run into someone who knew you, every day you are asked about, and from now on I will speak of how you’ve moved on to your next journey. 

You were my first friend in my new life, you took me in when no one else understood me, and you made a home for me in your heart. You found me a job when I was poor, you fed me when I was hungry, you made amazing concoctions of tea and liquor when I was sick. You and I could communicate in only meows and Blue’s Clues-esque woofs when we were in the weeds and we moved around each other like ballerinas on the stage. You were a marvelous sight to behold. Your smile and love reached everyone whose presence you graced. 

I am eternally guilty for not having known you better, because I was too self absorbed to stop talking about my own life. You probably knew me better than anyone else in this world, and I hardly knew you at all. Still, I knew your spirit and your heart, and those things were more important than anything else about you. 

“There will be rest, and sure stars shining over the rooftops crowned with snow. A reign of rest, serene forgetting, the stillness of music holy and low. I will make this world of my devising, out of a dream in my lonely mind. I shall find the crystal of peace - above me, stars I shall find.”

I promise to do all of the things we talked about in our wild-eyed fantasies. This world simply couldn’t handle you. You were too amazing. And you will return when the earth is ready for your spirit once more.
