this may be controversial in the severance community but i guess i just don’t rly understand the intensity behind the markgemma bandwagon- i think objectively what lumon did to gemma is horrible and dehumanizing and the outcome of her and outie mark’s relationship was tragic and intentionally so, but i don’t really understand the hype of the markgemma relationship over markhelly . i don’t even think the show is about shipping at all and i think this cacophony of relationship dynamics is just a layered demonstration of the nuanced themes of the show.

i guess i just feel like i don’t know gemma very well, she hasn’t been given much development, and ive only seen a miniature glimpse into her and mark’s relationship, so it’s hard for me to feel strongly about it. in my perception, helly(na) is a much more outwardly convoluted character and i find her and mark’s relationship dynamic(s) to be very compelling — the complexity & moral ambiguity is what excites me about the show.

i guess i just don’t understand the obsession w markgemma bc it doesn’t feel like a very foundational dynamic. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION & i am excited and happy to discuss, bc i genuinely want to know everyone’s thoughts !!! pls do not flame me 🤚
