In the interest of transparency (and thanks to a curious anon), I've gotten my arse in gear and created a basic (but I think cute) fic cover for Utterings in Undertale.

I'd just been using the AIgen cover (top) for posts that I'd made for a placeholder on Wattpad - since it required a cover. I'm primarily active on ao3 so this was an afterthought. After the question from anon, and scrolling through discourse on Tumblr, I decided that it would be more aligned with my own values to create my own placeholder even if it was shit (lol). I had used AI initially because I'm not an artist (as you can see) and I didn't want to accidentally use someone else's artwork without permission.

What I'm really hopeful for, even though my fic is only in it's babygrows (despite being 31,514 words already eek) is that I can commission someone to make a cover for my fic. I just didn't think this would be likely early on nor when my fic is very much just starting out.

In honour (and joy) of my ao3 fic reaching 500 hits, I thought it would be fun to post some of the weirdest notes from my planning doc.

I'm not someone who plans in a structured way, I think about it, smash the keyboard, and then work off my ramblings to create the chapter (do I go back and edit anything? No, I do not)

The title of the planning doc is actually just the first line - and I haven't changed it because it makes me laugh:

"Sans has a great knowledge of any skeleton based franchise"

I also write my planning notes in comic sans because... yeah.

"Papyrus defo loves Skeletor AND DOG THINGS! OR MAYBE NOT BECAUSE BONES?" (I don't know why the all caps)

"Y/N’s fave is corpse bride, papyrus is nightmare before Christmas, san’s also likes corpse bride (like you), undyne f loves Beetlejuice, alphys is Edward Scissorhands (blooky is just happy to be there lol) (I don't know why I put so much thought into this)

"Someone throws a book through blooky and you LOSE it" (Y/N's constant return to it being a hardback book really gets me)

"What tf does paps do for a living.. they’re (undyne too) lifeguards OBVIOUSLY" (I don't think I'll be going in this direction...)

"Okay let's KICK OFFFFFF" (this was just before the violence broke out in Chapter 9 and I was trying to psych myself up)

"...then we have *drum roll* the relationship repair..." (me racking my brains thinking about the perfect way to end ch. 9).
