They are most known for their powerful telepathy: they can read thoughts and emotions of many species. They value honesty, openness and emotional authenticity as telepathy makes deception socially discouraged. They are known for their warm and expressive personalities. Some of their social customs are unconventional to outsiders.

Romulans are descendants of Vulcans who rejected Surak’s philosophy and left Vulcan. Physically they are almost identical to Vulcans, the exception being that many have forehead ridges. Unlike Vulcans, Romulans embrace emotion and channel it through discipline & ambition. Their culture values loyalty to the state, secrecy, strategy and personal honour. Espionage and Intelligence are central to their society.

Augments are genetically engineered Humans created through advanced enhancement technologies. They are designed to possess superior strength, intelligence, reflexes and resistance to disease. A lot of them also show exceptional charisma and strategic ability. They are diverse rather than unified. Some of them embrace cooperation and ethical responsibility while the others believe their superiority gives them reason to rule over unmodified Humans.
