Armitage Hux:

The Meteoric Rise of the Order's Youngest General

Born on Arkanis in 1BBY, Armitage Hux, son of the former General Brendol Hux, retired Commandant of the Academy, has ascended to his father's position after the beloved General's untimely death (may the stars rest him). At age 34, General Armitage Hux is the youngest General in First Order history, and yet it would be foolish to underestimate his abilities based on his youth. Crackling with passion and determination, Armitage agreed to meet with the First Order press team and release this interview despite his busy schedule.

Prepared for the responsibility of becoming the youngest General in First Order history by a lifetime at Brendol's side, Armitage had this to say:

"I am certain that Brendol will be missed by many, and I thank all of you for your messages of condolences," Armitage responded, appearing in casual but stylish clothes that reflect his commitment to the Order's dress code standards even when off-duty. Even with the shock of Brendol's sudden and unexpected demise, Armitage seemed collected, and ready to serve, presenting a professional face for the camera. "My father's legacy is one that I am not likely to forget, but I shall strive to take the Order forward into a future greater than that of which even Brendol would have dared to dream."

Bold words from our newest General, but he does have the resume to back up his grandiose plans! We are pleased to announce that groundbreaking will begin on his greatest idea yet, the weapon Starkiller. Few plans have been publicly revealed [STAFF SHOULD NOTE THAT ALL CONFIDIENTIALITY CLAUSES ARE STILL IN EFFECT], but Starkiller is due to be as impressive as our new General, a weapon which will push back "a regime which acquiesces to disorder," Armitage notes. "The New Republic will quaver in the face of Starkiller, and we will bring the Order to its greatest heights yet!"

Though he lacks the experience of Brendol's Imperial pedigree, Armitage's vision of the future is impassioned, and he was clear to cite influence from Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, who [REDACTED], as well as Captain Phasma, of the planet [REDACTED]. Captain Phasma currently serves as Armitage's right hand on the revolutionary stormtrooper program, and declined to give a formal interview, though she did express her congratulations to our newest General.

And so shall we give the General our congratulations! The future is bright for General Armitage Hux, and we expect that his career will define both the galaxy and the First Order. Through technological advancement and dedication, Armitage Hux will bring all of us—even the unwilling deviants of the New Republic and the untamed Outer Rim— in to the future.

"I hope to show everyone the strength of my ideals," Armitage said, flashing an uncharacteristic smile, which we sadly did not catch on camera. "And that each and every member of the Order knows—when we advance, so too does the galaxy."

Long Live the First Order!

He ignites the lightsaber and the next thing he feels is Hux’s fingers cramping on his hips before they’re going slack. Before he is going slack.

The last breath leaves Hux’s body in a tired little sigh. It brushes Kylo’s skin like a warm caress.

“I’m sorry.”

His voice is shaking, his vision a blur. He’s not crying, but it’s a close thing. The tears he refuses to let fall are burning his eyes.

He deactivates the saber and Hux slumps forward, his body a dead weight in Kylo’s arms. But he refuses to let him fall. Refuses to let go of him.

Not yet.

Not yet.

Not yet.

His mind is a fuzzy, chaotic mess and he can feel a flurry of panic tugging at his concious. Cold is spreading throughout his body, his rapidly pouding heart pumping ice water through his veins.

The hilt of the lightsaber slips from his numb fingers, hitting the floor with a clang.

This was a mistake. A terrible, dreadful mistake.

Slowly, he kneels, still holding Hux in a tight embrace. His body has yet to start cooling. It’s a beacon of warmth and Kylo clings to it. Carefully, he settles Hux’s head above his heart, strokes his hair. Gently. Tenderly.

The tears are falling now. Kylo throws his head back and howls like a wounded animal, clutching at Hux. He had known it would hurt. He just hadn’t expected how much.

Snoke had told him it was necessary. Had said he needed to rid himself of this sentiment, to shake off this weakness.

He’s never felt weaker than this very moment.

Snoke was wrong. And Kylo needs to fix this or die trying.

His fingers search for the cauterized wound on Hux’s chest and he rests his palm on top of it. Then he closes his eyes and lets his mind expand, searching for the tiniest flicker of Hux.

At first he fears that he’s too late. Kylo has never done this before. He has no idea what he’s even doing, just that he has to, he has to!

When he sense it, it’s like the flutter of a butterfly’s wings, soft and barely there. Carefully, he wraps his mind around it, coaxes it, lead is back where it belongs.

Hux awakes with a gasp, the wound closed, only a star-shaped scar remaining. His eyes are so very green. So open. So trusting. So different for him than for anyone else. “Ren?”

“Shhhh …” Kylo smiles through his tears and cups Hux’s face. “You’re going to be alright. Everything is going to be alright.”

It’s the truth. Kylo will make it so.

Snoke was wrong to call Hux his weakness. And if he was wrong once, he can be wrong again. Quite possibly was wrong before. And Kylo doesn’t need a master who will steer him wrong.

He picks Hux up from the floor and carries him over to the bed where he places him of the soft mattress. They will have a lot of talking to do come morning. But for now he will hold Hux in his arms while plotting how to get rid of Snoke.

Because his former master was right in one thing, and only one: Kylo will have to shake off his weakness.

General Stark*ller

Kylo Ren: I'm strong. I can take it.

Hux: Excuse me?

Kylo Ren: I said punch me in the face. Didn't you hear?

He’s commanding officer, but here’s this guy who fills the room with force power and muscles, and he’s constantly undermining him. Hux can only puff up so far in response.

Listen to the Big Speech with your eyes shut- that’s not the voice of a great hulking rottweiler, that’s a chihuahua yapping at the universe. The voice is a choice as much as costuming and carriage. That’s a guy with something to prove.
