Because on the one hand everything about this thinking seems so wrong to me and, on other, for a relationship to begin is not necessary that the folks involved are willing to get married or have kids. i think it would be interesting that, even if Timon got a female love interest in a fic, he would be perfectly happy with his found family (even if Pumbaa weren't his mate in this fic) and without the will of having kids because he's happy with his adoptive son. That romantic feelings just happened without necessarily looking for them.

This is... not the first time I think about this LMFAO

I think that, with Bunga, they definitely did. To my mind, Timon and Pumbaa raised Bunga in a much concious way than Simba. They were older, more experienced at parenting and probabily they mature and grow as... animals along the years between Simba and Bunga.

With Simba... was different. While with Bunga they inmediatelly were a family, I think that with Simba they started more with the feeling/vibe of "group of outcasts/friends" and later it developed to "we're a family". Plus, it doesn't seem Timon, Pumbaa and Simba talked that much about serious stuff. They did have to talk about it at some point, Simba literally went from child to adult while living with Timon and Pumbaa, but I think that it started more like "ya know kid, you can ask us about whatever you want" and just some questions and answers here and there that came with the time.

Like, you´ll sure find about folks talking about their strrugles and labours, but not many people talk that deep about how the felt.

I don´t want to take this fic very seriously but as a person who hasn´t go throught pregnacy I would like to assure that I portait it in a realistic way from a place, also making the emotional travel one of the biggest points of this fic.
