ââ Thirteen what?
Vivianâs eyes widened at the request.   Thirteen batches of cupcakes by that night.
ââ Youâre going to help me, right? I only      have one oven, that will take ages. Are      you even going to pay me? Iâm not even      sure I have enough eggs and all that      stuff for so much, Jesus..
She huffed quietly and mumbled to herself,   thumbing through the cookbook that was laid   open on her kitchen counter.
â â You heard me! Thirteen batches! It's a      special occasion, alright? But, yes, I will pay      you. With my eternal love. And I'm not going      to eat them all by myself. I promise. â
Although Sora's tone wasn't too convincing, her      sleeves were already rolled up, and she was      ready to rumbleâ even though Sora was      basically a walking fire hazard in the kitchen.
â â So what do you even put in cupcakes? I've      never actually baked before. Or cooked. Well,      unless you count making instant noodles. Are      you sure it's a good idea to have me in here?      I might burn this whole place downâ but you      wouldn't hold it against me, right? â     Â

She canât exactly tell this girl what she needs therapy for. No one wants to hear things like that, right? Sure, this girl looks like her, but she probably doesnât share the same views on things. Hayley probably shouldnât tell her. but that doesnât stop her from saying it. Sheâs casual, even offering a shrug. âI need therapy because Iâm not the best person. In what ways? I like to hurt people.âHurt people how? She doesnât say. She simply lets her words hang in tense air, brows raised, almost like sheâs expecting a storm of questions to roll in.
"Hurt people? What do youâ oh." It doesn't take her long to put two and two together. She takes a step back, almost subconsciously. She's not sure what makes her do it... fear? Probably. "That'sâ uh." Her voice is a little shaky. No, not a little. Very. "Have you ever...? No, actually, never mind. It's probably better if you don't tell me. I might throw up." She grimaces at the thought. "I guess you really do need therapy. When was the last time you went to an appointment?"  Was it a good idea to pry? No, most likely. But she couldn't help herself. She was so curious. And then she remembered curiosity killed the cat. "I meanâ it doesn't matter!" She said, and she could hear the panic in her own voice. "I'll still go for you, if you want me to. And I'm guessing you do."

The ticking of the clock gets really annoying after a while.
2 AM. Another sleepless nightâ although Sora couldn't really ever afford sleep, anyway. Not when she had work to do, let alone when she failed a taskâ and, boy, this time around, she fucked up real bad.Â
Sometimes it's not really a big deal, because you've got clients who aren't anything special so you can just slither away, head still very much in order, and that's that, no harm done.Â
...And then, there's those people who are going to slit your throat because you failed to retrieve the needed info or failed to complete the task. Which was reasonable, really, in this line of work... that is, Sora considered it reasonable until she got the short end of stick. Maybe this time she bit off more than she could chew. No, not maybeâ most definitely. If she was the only one mixed up in this whole thing, then worming her way out of it might have been easier... She'd bat her eyelashes, act coy, apologize and that'd be that. ...But no, she just had to be involved with him.Â
3 AM. What was the point of staying in bed? All she did was beat herself up over the miserable job she'd doneâ or, rather, she didn't do at all. Because she failed. Failure. Failure. Failure. The word kept flashing behind her eyelids, like a huge neon sign. Not even an ice cold shower helped her shake off the looming (and very irritating) feeling of impending disaster.Â
4 AM. The streets were dead. Funny, really, because she felt as though that mirrored both her current appearance and state of mind at the moment. The clacking of her heels felt intrusive because everything was so fucking quiet. Too quiet. And she never really liked silence. It made her feel exposed, insecure. She wondered why and how some people found solace in silence.Â
4:30 AM. The building towered over her, it felt menacing and sinister and she suddenly felt like she shouldn't be here. As she approached the door, she threw anxious glances over her shoulder, as if hoping someone might come and save her. Bad idea, bad idea, bad idea. Don't do it. But  as she tried to open the door, it just doesn't budge. Right. Can't go in alone.
A sigh. She turned aroundâ and she immediately regretted coming here in the first place. The silhouette standing in front of her was just barely illuminated by the street light but she could still see his features clearly. If looks could kill, she'd be dead ten times over.Â
She was brave enough to open her mouth and speak. But she didn't really feel brave, she just felt stupid. Stupid and scared.Â
"Fancy seeing you here."

âYou could go to all of my therapy appointments for me so I appear relatively normal or something. You donât have any mental illnesses, right? Personality disorders, psychopathy? Youâre clean?â Hayley questions her twin, actually thinking the idea over once, twice, or five times. It would be a good way to get her therapist off of her back, and no one would suspect a thing. âYou could come in handy if youâre normalâŠâ
A therapist? Mental illnesses? Sora is a little unnerved by this, but she doesn't let it show. "Yeah, I'm... clean in that sense. Mind telling me why exactly you need to go to a therapist? You don't... look like you need one. But I guess looks can be deceiving." So, what happens if Hayley does something troublesome and gets Sora mixed up in the mess as well? This is one of the bad sides of having a twin. Wellâ not just a twin. A somewhat evil twin. Or maybe she wasn't evil, just a bit... wicked. Not like that was any better. "But, you know, you don't have to tell me now. You don't have to tell me at all.  Just saying, it might be helpful if I end up going to these appointments of yours."
âFree things are usually good but wellââ At the otherâs choice of curse she couldnât help but chuckle. âNow, now Iâm pretty sure you had a dirty mind before this horrendous movie. Donât blame me!â Chaerin grinned, pretending to ponder the suggestion a few seconds before answering. âWell I suppose some bubble tea is only fair after this⊠experience." The blonde nudged her head towards the exit door. "Time to leave this place behind then?"
"Yeah, usually. Please, if you love me, don't ever make me go through such torture again." She poked her lower lip out before linking her arm with the other's. "Ah, please, you know I'm an innocent little flower! God's watching me, how could I ever pollute my mind with dirty thoughts?" Although she tried to keep her expression serious, she couldn't help but snort. "Just kidding. If God is indeed watching me, I'm going to hell. But that trip is going to have to wait for a long time," she gave a small shrug, bringing up her index finger and pointing somewhere in the distance, speaking in her best narrator voice. "Onward to the bubble tea shop! There's a Gong Cha somewhere around here, no? C'mon, let us embark on this adventure!"
