She had noe idea how she got herself in this situation. Blood on the floor, someone being carried away as she herself sat down in a slight daze. Some policemen had come by to ask her questions but she frankly couldn't give any answer that made any sense. After all she had simply been on her way home as someone literally fell before her eyes. "I honestly did not see anything else than the guy fall down to the floor sir." Though the policeman by her side seemed to not fully believe her story.
✘ —— The entire location of the crime had been closed off from citizens, except for those who were involved with the law and forensics. Policemen started the task of taping off the area, pinpointing the extent of the boundary of the crime, where the blood had splattered and where the victim had fallen. One single officer began taking photographs, ensuring the evidence would not be mishandled during their duration of the task, but it was needed for their case. A few others had paired off, walking along the scene to pick up any stray clues that could have been missed, or writing down important notes.
“Really. I know it might have been traumatic to see,” the policeman spoke, attempting to keep their skepticism hidden in their tone, but failed, “but I advise you to think harder. Had anyone passed you on your way here–”
“Now, now, please give the young lady some proper time to think,” interrupted an older detective, Nam Junseok, who had approached the pair with a solemn expression. He had been walking around the area, writing down his own notes, then observing the crime scene. He had spotted the conversing and felt the need to interject, as he was one of the senior detectives for this case.
“Please, Mr Yu, I can take over this conversation. Take your partner with you.” Junseok gave a firm nod, looking at one police officer than the other. His tone had been friendly, but it did not meet his eyes. Already, the case had affected his train of thought. It wouldn’t leave until he found a way to close the case.
The policemen bowed their head. Before turning to leave with their partner, Mr Yu had glanced at the female, eyes squinted, appearing cynical.
“I apologize, where are my manners? I am Detective Nam. I understand that this can be difficult to handle,” Junseok spoke once the policemen had left to assist another detective, lowering his eyes to the female, “and that you may be feeling over-whelmed. However, you are our only witness. I hope that you are thinking of participating in interviews that I will be providing. We will not disclose your name to the public, if that is a worry.” He paused, speaking in a normal pace to not confuse her. “Now, Miss…–” He trailed off, awaiting for her to provide a name.
The older man had wanted to see if she can speak, what state she could be in. By doing so, he’ll have the ability to observe her further, perhaps pick up some clues. After all, no one on the team wasn’t entirely certain if she was the perpetrator. He was being careful.
