Re-heatable Rice Packs: low waste craft perfect for beginner sewers.
Used old scrap fabric to create shapes to pour rice into. Cut out around pattern leaving seam allowance. Sewed seams on three of four sides. Once reach four side, see two thirds of side leaving 1/3 of side open to turn inside out.
Filled shapes with rice until desired amount. I left enough room to mold my pack to my arm, shoulder, leg, etc.
Top stitched remaining open side down by hand.
Place in microwave for three minutes on 60% power with a glass of water

DIY Garden Boxes:
Transformed old dresser drawers into garden boxes.
I used two dresser drawers for each box. Took the bottom off of one drawer and stacked it on top of the other. Added support bars inside the box to make sure the two drawers stayed together. Filled with compost dirt from our local garden store and bought some starter plants at the farmers market. These garden boxes have lasted into the winter and will only need some minor repairs in the fall to use again. I had fun trying to use pieces I already owned and am giving these drawers another life.
This wasa low waste project that gives my original piece a second life. While also being able to now grow my own herbs and fruits to be more sustainable and environmentally conscious. Very new gardener here but having fun!

This house is full of Chandeliers! This one was found in the back bedroom with a creamy floral wallpaper. The front bedroom has these gorgeous closet doors with glass door knobs.
Fun finds in this 1930’s Minneapolis house!
This is one of my favorite easy knitting project for beginners! I made a bunch of washcloths as gifts for family and friends. I made various sizes and added a bar of soap from a local maker. I wrapped it up with remaining yarn. Very low waste and thoughtful hand made gift!
Diagonal Knit Wash Cloth
Can makes multiple size wash cloths depending on how many you cast on. You work from bottom corner towards top corner using increase and decrease stitches respectively. I used old yarn that I had laying around. My yarn was a cotton blend and I used a size US 7 needle.
I used Knits & Bits Pattern to create my first one and then experimented and changed up a few things as I got the hang of it.

If you want to learn to knit, this is the perfect project to get started on! It only requires a few basic stitches and it is very repetitive
Checkers /chess board built into picnic table. What a fun design! Tiles used to build checkers board placed onto cement table.
This table was found along the Promenade at Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas.
Some beautiful finds at the next house we are flipping to eventually sell. This home was built in the 1930’s and is in a quiet south MInneapolis neighborhood.
