Wants your tips for baby shifters?
❘༻༺❘Tips for New Shifters:❘༻༺❘
Okay, so I have been wanting to make a post like this for a while anyway, so thank you for asking Anon! ♡
I might eventually make a masterlist of all of my asks if I get more of them!👀
I've been shifting since September 2020 and have shifted/mini-shifted 90+ times at this point, and I've gone through A LOT of different phases during my journey. I've been the 'baby shifter' who had absolutely no idea what he was doing at first for a while, I've been the person who believed way too much of the misinformation that was going around in 2020, I've obsessed over methods, symptoms, subliminals, numbers, days, everythingggg, and I've also gotten to the point where I don't really need most of that anymore.
So here are some things that I REALLY wish somebody had told me when I was just first starting out.
You do NOT need to know everything before you shift. Seriously, I know how tempting it all is to go down the rabbit hole and read literally EVERYTHING about shifting before you even attempt it. I did that too. I wanted to know every method, every symptom, every possible thing that could ever potentially happen, every piece of terminology, every little detail. You don't need to know it all.
You can literally just decide that you're going to shift and that's it.
You don't need a perfect script.
You don't need a specific method.
You don't need subliminals.
You don't need to lie in a specific position.
You don't need to count to a certain number.
You don't need to experience symptoms.
You don't need to enter a void state.
You don't need to visualize perfectly.
You don't need to be completely relaxed.
And you definitely don't need to do some complicated 45-step method that somebody made on TikTok. Methods are just TOOLS. They aren't requirements.
I mainly use the Intention/Intend method, and Lucid Dreaming now, but I've tried a LOT of methods throughout my journey. Raven, Eye, Alice in Wonderland, Heartbeat, Julia, Pillow Holding/cudling method, etc...
Some worked better for me than others, some made me uncomfortable, some gave me symptoms, some got me into really deep states, some did basically nothing. And that's completely okay!
Find what feels natural to !!YOU!! instead of forcing yourself to use whatever method happens to be popular.
❘༻༺❘PLEASE STOP CHASING SYMPTOMS❘༻༺❘
This is one of the biggest things I would tell a new shifter.
You don't need to feel like you're floating.
You don't need to feel heavy.
You don't need to feel vibrations.
You don't need to hear things.
You don't need to see flashing lights.
You don't need to feel your DR around you.
And you don't need to experience some dramatic “OMG I'M SHIFTING!!!” moment. I've had attempts where I experienced a bunch of weird sensations and nothing happened. I've also had experiences that were extremely unexpected.
My first mini-shift with the Eye Method literally happened while I was at HIGHSCHOOL after taking a TEST. 😭 It was completely unexpected and honestly really disorienting.
So don't sit there thinking:
“I'm not feeling anything, therefore I'm failing or nothing is happening.”
You're not failing and something is happening.
You are allowed to just simply try.
❘༻༺❘DON'T TURN SHIFTING INTO A CHORE❘༻༺❘
I did this, unfortunately. At one point I was literally counting every single day of my shifting journey and writing down what I had done every day like “Day 179 of knowing about and trying reality shifting, this and that happened…” and it became so exhausting and was just simply so unnecessary.
Shifting is something I enjoy, so turning it into another thing I HAD to accomplish every single day just made me stressed out.
Taking a break does NOT mean you've failed.
Taking a break does NOT erase your progress.
Taking a break does NOT mean you are “going backwards.”
I actually took a break for so long in my early journey and it helped me SO much. After that, I started shifting more frequently. Sometimes you need to step away from something because you're thinking about it too much. Go play a game, watch a movie, go outside, draw, talk to your friends, work on your hobbies, sleep, and just LIVE.
You don't have to spend every waking moment trying to shift.
❘༻༺❘DON'T PUT A DEADLINE ON YOURSELF❘༻༺❘
Please don't convince yourself that:
“I HAVE to shift tonight.”
“I need to shift before this date.”
“Everyone else shifted faster than me.”
“It's been X amount of days, why hasn't it happened?”
Your journey is !!YOUR!! journey!!
My first full shift happened 18 days after I discovered shifting. That doesn't mean someone else needs to shift within 18 days. Someone else's timeline isn't a timer for you. I've had periods where my shifts happened only a few days apart. I've had periods where they were weeks apart. I've also had periods where MONTHS and even YEARS passed between shifts.
And yes, it frustrated me, A LOT to be honest and it still does. But I eventually became much calmer about it. Time doesn't determine whether you're capable of shifting.
❘༻༺❘YOU ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE DOUBTS❘༻༺❘
I see new shifters constantly worrying that if they have one doubtful or negative thought that they've ruined everything. You haven't.
You're a human being, you can believe in shifting and still have a random “what if?” thought. You can be excited and nervous, you can have a bad attempt, you can get frustrated, you can even take a break.
None of that automatically means you've failed.
Don't turn your own thoughts into some kind of enemy that you have to constantly monitor.
❘༻༺❘BE CAREFUL WITH SHIFTING INFORMATION ONLINE❘༻༺❘
There is so much information online and not all of it is reliable. I was literally a victim of 2020 Shifttok misinformation for the longest time.😭
There were so many things I thought were necessary that I eventually realized weren't necessary for me or anyone else at all.
So when somebody online tells you:
“You MUST experience this symptom.”
“You can't shift unless you believe perfectly.”
“You have to drink this much water.”
“You have to sleep in this position.”
“You can only shift using this method.”
PLEASE remember that you're reading another person's experience or belief. Take what resonates, experiment for yourself. And don't let somebody else's rules become your rules just because they wrote them confidently on the internet.
❘༻༺❘YOUR DR DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT❘༻༺❘
You don't need a 500-page script. You don't need to script every single conversation. You don't need to know every single detail about your DR before you go there. You can script as much or as little as you want.
I personally LOVE scripting and documenting things because I enjoy it, but that's different from believing I need to do it.
A script is for YOU. Make it fun, make it pretty. Make a ridiculous amount of details if that's what you enjoy, or write three sentences and go, both are okay.
❘༻༺❘DON'T COMPARE YOUR EXPERIENCES TO OTHER SHIFTERS❘༻༺❘
This one can really mess with you. Someone says they shifted on their first attempt. Someone else says they shifted for six months. Someone has 100+ shifts. Someone only has one. Someone remembers everything. Someone else barely remembers anything. Someone shifts awake. Someone shifts through dreams. Someone uses intention. Someone uses a method. Someone else doesn't use anything. That doesn't mean that you're doing something wrong. Your journey is going to look different from theirs. Mine certainly didn't look like how I expected it to.
❘༻༺❘AND FINALLY... DON'T FORGET TO HAVE FUN!♡❘༻༺❘
I think this is probably my biggest tip.
Don't let the shifting community convince you that you have to make this complicated. You discovered something that you find interesting and exciting. Explore it, learn, experiment, have weird experiences, make scripts for worlds you love, make playlists, visualize your DR if you can and want to, journal if you enjoy journaling, listen to music, try lucid dreaming, try methods, don't try methods, take breaks and then come back.
Figure out what works for YOU.
And most importantly, don't give up just because your journey doesn't look like somebody else's.
I started out knowing basically nothing. I had to research so much of this myself, and one of the biggest reasons of why I started helping other people in the first place was because when I was a “baby/new shifter,” I remember asking questions and not getting any answers. I didn't want other people to have to go through that.
I've learned SO much since 2020, and I'm still learning. I'm still experimenting, I'm still having experiences that I don't completely or fully understand, and I'm still figuring things out.
You don't have to be an expert to start.
And if you have questions, ASK. ♡
There are no stupid questions.
Just remember that I'm sharing what I've personally learned and experienced. I'm not some all-knowing shifting god who has every answer to everything.😭
I've shifted a lot, but I'm still just a person learning alongside everyone else.
Good luck on your shifting journeys!! ♡
