Unashamed of What's Important

I wanted to make a more detailed post and explain a bit further and all but. Long story short, I had sepsis and almost died. Surprise!

I started feeling pain in my leg, which had a intramedullary nail and three screws since 2019. They got infected at some point in the past year, I got them removed, but now with recovery I wanna help out to pay for my meds…

So my commissions now go for both my health and the old lady, because yes, she still needs meds and check ups, even if I haven’t been able to go cause walking is hard atm. The prices have gone up just a bit.

Like, Wind is competent but, none of the adults on Outset Island can fight. Except Master Orca, who is too old to help Link on a physically-demanding adventure.

Ciela, the fairy from Phantom Hourglass, and The King of Red Lions were dubious adults, but both were in forms that couldn’t help with combat.

Tetra’s Crew can help out, but Wind is still the best fighter among them.

All that is to say, is that Wind probably likes having companions that can take care of themselves. He probably has that age-old older sibling relief of I’m not responsible for these people. Of course, older sibling instincts remain, like sand ground into a shoe, but it’s the officiality of it that matters.

Even if its annoying to be the youngest, everyone in the Chain is competent enough to take care of themselves and while nobody is a pro at emotional regulation or healthy coping mechanisms, none of them are little kids or defenseless.

Like obviously it’s an adjustment for all the Links, to be around people that are as competent as them, but gee, it must be nice to know someone can defend themselves and have your back.

But especially for Wind, who’s used to adults that may be nice, or too old for combat, or mean, or useless in combat, or … Linebeck (nearly all four). It must be nice to be around actual warriors who are older (but not too old) and trained to any degree.

I can see why Wind might feel like he can act more like an adventurous near-14yr old rather than the best fighter available. Like, if you finally had people who were on your level and on your side, wouldn’t you feel safe enough to act a little more silly? A little more like the kid that didn’t have to kill a man, because there was no one else?

Idk I feel like Wind would post on tik tok frequently so it formed into this.

I've been LONG overdue Windwaker fanart…I drew so much when I was a kid. The game was definitely a big fixation for me and was my first proper Zelda experience - I have fond memories of sitting in front of a tiny CRT with my brother and cousin, taking turns playing. Simpler times!

I know Sky is your favorite to draw, so feel free to draw him nappin' or playing his harp or cuddling one of his younger bros. 💗 Feel free to draw any of the others that might catch your fancy, though. I know Twilight's design tends to get a lot of eye emojis. XD But no pressure ofc.

ANYWAYS here are some... very rough sketches of your beautiful boys

Sky was mostly an anatomy practice sketch, Four made me realize I needed to draw the character facing the camera to actually show off the details of the clothing, and Wars is my favourite of the three drawings. He's such a diva

Look at Wars being handsome! He's fabulous and he knows it. I love all the detail you included in his outfit, especially his bracelets and the triangle patterns in his clothing. His hair also looks very fluffye, he must have recently washed it, lol.

Nerd Four must nerd even when dressed to the nines, lol. Why do I envision him getting this idea for a future project that he simply MUST write down in the middle of an important social function, and slipping away to scribble it down before someone notices he's gone? Hopefully he doesn't get any ink on his pretty clothes! Also the shrimp is shrimping, Four no, think of your back!

I must confess that Sky is my favorite sketch of the lot, though, even if you can't see much of his outfit. He just looks so soft, so gentle, so sweet. 🥺 I want to pet his hair, it looks so soft and and fluffy. And give him a hug, but I guess his brothers will have to do that for me.
