Part 7

Excerpt:

Sam always sleeps with his window open during the sweltering summer nights. He likes the faint smell of salt water and the way the crickets and the frogs sound; it reminds him of simpler times.

At first, he’s not exactly sure what wakes him up, but it can likely be blamed on the dark figure whose silhouette is somewhat awkwardly perched in the windowsill. Sam doesn’t for a moment question who it is.

“Seb? What the fuck? It’s the middle of the night.”

He can hear the sleep in his own voice as he reaches over to turn his bedside lamp on, his thoughts already racing at the possibilities of what excuse could be given to this.

Sebastian stands in front of the window, looking as if he’s been caught doing something truly shameful. Sam painfully swallows the thick wad of saliva that suddenly appears in his throat at the thought. Sebastian used to pull that entrance off at least twice a week.

“I, uh-um…”

Sebastian stutters, briefly, ultimately trailing off before anxiously glancing around the dimly lit room. It’s changed some since he’s last been in here, Sam knows that, but he can’t care to let him get acclimated.

Fun Fact about yourself? My favourite hobby is collecting new hobbies! I'm the biggest "jack of all trades, master of none" I've ever known. If there's a craft, art medium, or creative hobby out there, I've probably tried it. Alongside writing fanfiction, I've dabbled in sewing, drawing, painting, knitting, crocheting, needle felting, embroidery, cross-stitch, and probably a dozen more. I also do my own nail art and nail extensions, love experimenting with makeup, and I love cooking and baking. Most recently, I've fallen in love with programming and coding, and have started creating my own Stardew Valley mod!

How long have you been writing fanfiction? My best friend got me into fanfiction in the summer of 2024, so it's been 2 years now! I've had so much fun writing over the past 2 years, and I can't wait to keep writing more!

Favourite SDV character to write? SEBASTIAN!!!!!! I love my emo boy!!! But I've also gotten really into writing more Sam stuff recently… especially Sambastian!!

Favourite tropes/genre to write? I am a HUGEEEE sucker for Friends to Lovers and Strangers to Lovers!!!

Your most popular SDV fanfic? I only have the one SDV fic as of right now: my Sebastian/Farmer fic with lots of Sam/Sebastian undertones called Chasing Thunder

Hear me out: There is NO WAY Sam and Sebastian aren't in love. They’re constantly talking about each other. If you start dating Sebastian, Sam starts talking about how much he needs Sebastian "for the band." Okay, sure buddy. For the band… You can literally turn it into a honky-tonk country band, which Sebastian would absolutely hate, yet he STILL stays in the band. Why? Because of Sam. Even when you marry either one of them, they still don’t stop talking about the other. Every festival, they mention how excited they are to see each other. They’re totally in love and in denial.

Lastly, any other fandoms you write for? My very first fic, the one that got me into writing fanfic in the first place, is a Life is Strange 2 longfic that I'm hoping to continue someday.
