Since this is the last day of pride month, I wanted to share some goodies I made at pride!
This is the beautiful Otto (1/2 of the Gay German class/club mascots) but as a candysaur! Otto is my pride and joy as an OC, and is a main character in a short series I wrote, and is now a dinosaur.
Here is my 3rd life inspired mug! The outside is the cactus ring with the hidden sculpture of pesky bird inside, while the handle has the icon life series hearts and the purple on the inside was meant to be watchery. This series made me fall in love with Minecraft all over again so I wanted to try and replicate some of its charm in my ceramics class. (We don't talk about how bad the mug was, it was the second thing I sculpted).
These little fellas are a grave yard scene I made! I made the canine skull with the cobra first, intending it to be more hellish as I based the idea on a hell hound. The white canine is meant to be more angelic with its wings and mostly white and gold color palette, while the red and black represent it's flaws and more human nature. The grave reads "abandon all hope, all ye who enter", which taken and modified from Dante's Inferno. While the piece started as an attempt at making a dog, it finished as a canine interpretation of Dante's Inferno and is my favorite piece to date!

Here is a tea candle holder I made! The original idea was a gator guarding a chest, but his leg popped off in the kiln so he became a battle scared guardian. Not my best workmanship but I'm very proud of the glaze.
Here is a little dolphin I made for another teacher! He's a little wonky but I still loved him.
Here is a pink meerkat that I made for my theater teacher! She's a little weird but it made my teacher laugh so it was worth it.
This is Otto! He is a brontosaurus I made for my German teacher! Our mascot, Stefan the triceratops, was lonely but now he has a husband!
Here is a incense holder I made! While I don't have it working in the photos, it's does look like soup cooking on a stove which is fun.

Here is the first piece I ever made on the pottery wheel! I use if as a jewelry holder now but it could technically be used as a bowl for food.
Here is the coil pot I made! It was originally going to be larger but it collapsed in on itself and kinda looked like a tree stump so I went with it. The green is meant to be vines and the purple swirls are snail inspired. This was definitely a top 3 piece for me this year.
Here is my first ceramics project from this past semester!!! He's a little ugly but I'm pretty happy about how he came out! He's a pinch pot with a keyed lid and is named Doug.
