Progress on sneek
what books were you assigned to read in a class that you still hold a violent and bitter grudge against
for me it’s into the wild and the scarlet letter
For me it’s The Great Gatsby. I honestly can’t stand it.
Same. I hated my English classes. They somehow managed to make reading un-fun, for someone who is an avid reader. Took me years to get back into reading after High School.
Tess of the D’Ubervilles. I almost threw it out of a moving bus.
Oliver Twist. And possibly Great Gatsby; I know I read it, but I have no memory of anything in it.
I actually liked Scarlet Letter.
Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
Madame fucking Bovary.
To Kill a Mockingbird.
Fahrenheit 451, a wrinkle in time, and a walk two moons

Crafty vs Creative
Is it just me, or are there other out there in the stitchiverse that crafty, not creative? I love to do all the crafts. All of them. Crochet, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery, quilting. So much! But unless I have a strict pattern that tells me what to do, I don’t do it. I see so many beautiful things-thread painting and cute cross stitches and gorgeous sweaters! But I wish I could come up with those too. But I don’t know how. I could do the thing, if only there were strict rules. Or maybe I’d love to practice some embroidery, but everything looks cool but nothing I would actually put anywhere… so then the thought of selling items seems like a thing but then I would need to come up with my own ideas. But that brings me to my original point: I’m crafty, not creative.
Me af 😩 I have so many ideas for cross stitch patterns I want to make but my brain just won’t seem to let me put it into action at all, it’s so frustrating
Reblog if you think anyone can do stitching crafts regardless of their gender.
If you you think sewing and stitching crafts are “women’s crafts” please feel free to hurl yourself into the sun.
Everyone can (and I think should) do crafts! It helps the mind and soul! Fiber crafters can be any and everyone! (I first saw a spinning demo by a sweet little old Norwegian gentleman and he was REALLY good at the long draw with hand carded wool. He was so talented!)
