So after an reflexive "fuck you and the horse you rode in on" towards people saying dude isn't gender neutral (I calmed down when they stopped being fucking hypocrites and started saying the same about girl and such), I found myself in need of a better term when talking to some random of indeterminate state.

For some godforsaken reason, my brain rolled a nat 1, and now I instinctually go for bestie or worstie. I'm pretty sure this is Twitter lingo and I've never been on there besides checking out artists back before it's befuckening, so where the hell did I pick this up???

Anyone else have funny vocab realizations recently?

Over fifty years of data show a peak in PFAS (also known as "forever chemicals") content in seabird eggs in the 90s, followed by a decrease as regulations went into effect. The most recent findings show a 70% decrease of most common PFAS.

We are making genuine progress! Producers are dramatically altering how much they use PFAS and how much gets released in effluent, but also there's a lot better understanding of how to remove PFAS from the environment!

It doesn't matter that it won't be a permanent change - 4 good days is still worth it.

If you ever catch yourself thinking, "I wish I could pray/stretch/prep/plan/do the thing, but I always get started on that and it never lasts more than a couple of days,"

what this really means is, "hey, I can feel better for a couple of days."

"To the artist who did my portrait," she is shown a painting of a woman done by the man's teacher, who he still looks up to now that he is well established himself.

"To the Royal Knight," she is surprised but not displeased to see the castle's entire guard force in the middle of doing drills.

The one hundredth time she asks the mirror, and it asks her "to whom?" she once again says, "To me." And she does the same the one hundred and second, and again and again and again.
