i've been seeing this take a lot & wanted to offer a counter argument. this scene focuses on ralsei choosing who THEY want to be, independently of their duty to serve susie and kris. flowery blatantly states this:

it would be thematically contradictory for the blue and pink to represent susie and kris, as the scene is all about ralsei choosing a drink based on their own tastes rather than thinking about their friends. so it makes no sense for ralsei to pick the "susie and kris" drink. additionally, i don't think the game has ever referred to susie as "pink." she's pretty consistently been "the purple girl."

I love how people could handle Jax being an insufferable asshole until it was confirmed she was transfem.

Also I think more media should show that bad people deserve kindness and compassion, even if they won't be forgiven.

I think more media should show victims feeling complex emotions when abusers die or otherwise can't harm them anymore

I think more media should show that bad people struggle with how they view themselves and how many crave wanting to get better but feel undeserving of it

I think more media should show the struggles of mentally ill individuals that isn't in a sanitized, aesthetic, uwu im depressed so im putting hello kitty bandaids on my cuts way, but the raw, real, breakdowns of forcibly facing the reality that you HAVE hurt people and how you feel like you don't deserve to live for it

I don't like this idea that all trans/LGBTQA+ people need to be perfect individuals to be seen as good representation and that you can't have people in these groups do bad things. It reminds me of how some call Angel Dust a bad representation of gay men/sexual abuse victims because he isn't this perfect victim who can do no wrong. Sometimes people who have been hurt can end up hurting others. There are people out there who are still closeted and deal with it in very unhealthy ways. If every LGBTQIA+ character were a perfect angel who could do no wrong, then it would get boring fast and kinda insulting to the community

There are a lot of themes about Jax repressing themselves due to growing up in an abusive household. From them pushing Ribbit and Pomni away when they try to offer support, to them trying to repress their identity, to the multiple mentions of masculinity when referring to them. They put on the facade of a "cartoon bully" to protect themselves. Because the last time they opened themselves up to someone and built a deeper connection to someone (that being his own mother) it was immediately used as ammunition to attack them. It's an explanation, not an excuse for Jax's behaviour. Jax is a literal cautionary tale of what can happen to someone who refuses to grow as a person and pushes those who try to help them away. I have very mixed opinions on how Jax's story ended, but I understand why it ended the way it did
